I was previously a loyal Samsung user, but because the Exynos 990's performance was so bad I was forced to move to Rog 3 with Snapdragon 865+. But what is very unfortunate is the poor quality of the Asus rog 3. when you first bought it there were about 4 dead pixels, now it's about 13 dead pixels, I don't know how many will be later. have you experienced the same thing ?? Is the quality of OLED ASUS really that bad?
All those users still suffering from black crush after the .99 update... Please specify in which app and at what brightness are you facing the issue ? Also please mention the refresh rate ...
So all the issues are surrounding netflix. Frankly I too had the issue but now even in low to max brightness I dont notice any such crush in YouTube or mx player anymore. Everyone instead of just saying i am having the issue please mention the conditions under which you are facing it. Would also help the team to understand.
In every single app i used , so not mentioning any particular app
Yes, i am having issues of having grey colour instead of blacks with brightness more than 50 and having black crush with brightness less than 50
As black is the most important color and have most important part in viewing any media , satisfaction is not there as i have to watch media on my old s7 edge and not in my rog 3
Even after.99 update black crush do exist everywhere, but peaks when the brightness is around 35-50. Its time for us to accept the fact that it can't be fixed and should live with it. When I bought ROG zephyrus s17, the performance made me think that asus can compete with apple, but now realised that I made a fool of myself
The main issue with the device is black crush, what is the point in releasing 100 updates which doesn't solve the key issue and it's more than 3 months, the issue still persists. And I don't expect anything from this incompetent asus team. This may sound offensive but still a fact in my opinion.
Guys black crush issue specifically may not exist anymore such as pixelated dark areas. But I did a side by side comparison of my rog 3 with OnePlus 7t ... Results are same across all refresh rates. That perfect black experience of amoled screens is still absent in rog 3. Looks very mich like cheap lcd display whereas they have so lengthy spec list
of just their screen... Asus its really time you atleast give some response... Atleast say this that its unsolvable... losing our patience
7T costs much less. If 144 hz is not feasible 90 hz was fine... It was fine that living with buggy 144 hz. And moreover the difference is persistent even in 60 hz on both displays. 😔😔😔😭😭😭😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Hello, so this is what's happening to my unit since the day I got it.
I don't know if that half blacked screen falls under the 'black crush' category. The picture I took shows the Google discovery feed page just to present the problem - that's where the issue is best visible . Only the lower part of the screen is affected by this - while gaming or watching movies only this part displays darker spots differently. While this is happening the colors seem to be fine, that's why I didn't know if I should address the black crush issue.
Also, since I can't find the answer anywhere - is the green tint a hardware or a software problem, no update has fixed it for me yet since August. The tint isn't green in the 60hz mode but I can still see the discoloration.
Same thing is happening with my device, Asus might not tested the devices before selling, -Is it really a game changer device? Few months more and then Rog3 game will be over! Do something Asus!!!

Dead pixels is an hardware issue pal get the display replaced under warranty
If not it'll get much more worse
The people here are complaining about black crush(which is common now in new phones anyways) not dead pixels you probably have a defective unit
Not bad at all....it's worst!

Black crush does exist in low brightness condition
144 Hz, 50-100% Brightness, Netflix. With 60 hz things get a bit better, but not to an acceptable level.
The .99 update didn't state anything about having fixed the black crush issue.
I too facing same issue heavy black crush on my rog 3

Yeah black crush improved for many after .99 on the telegram group of rog too

Why do you say that? I mean the Update didn't state a Black Crush fix anywhere.
For you as well? Because for me it all stayed the same.

Completely agree, I'm getting annoyed too how can you treat your customers like this. It's not like the phone was cheap.

My screen display is on firmware 99, the black background is terrible
