Mine died last week and it's still dead. I got an 8GB RAM version and it was great for 3 weeks... until it died without a reason.
https://www.xda-developers.com/asus-zenfone-6-devices-motherboard-malfunction/This issue has been highlighted in the XDA developers forum. Apparently the software update causes the hardware to malfunction. ASUS is calling in the affected devices for repairs. My point is why is ASUS not giving replacement to the customers who are affected. However you do repairs, the phone loses its value once it has been repaired. It is not the fresh new phone bought just weeks ago if you are performing repair work on the device. ASUS is cheating its customers and looting the customers money based on a technicality of policy. I have lost all faith in ASUS.

After receiving an update of 300 mb mine 6z is crashing. Automatic restart is in continuation also there is no change after being formatted completely.Phone gets restarted wherever whatever you are doing either mailing, listen songs, watching videos etc. It has become annoying, even there is no physical damage done on phone still this issue is occurring on daily basis which has become pathetic. Need solution urgently from team Asus
Let's hope ASUS realizes the gravity of the situation and about the unfair treatment it's giving to the customers.
Same here in India . I was assured that I would get the phone this week. Called yesterday and they told me they still didn't receive the part but assured me that I would get it this Monday. But I really doubt them as their assurance is as pathetic as their policies.
