Please tell us some basic information before asking for help:
Model Name:
Firmware Version:
Rooted or not:
Frequency of Occurrence:
APP Name & APP Version (If your issue relates to the app):
In addition to information above, please also provide as much details as you can, e.g., using scenario, what troubleshooting you've already done, screenshot, etc.
========================================
As many posted on the forum. I and everyone have similar issue. (This is already upgraded for whole night and a full charge)
CPU also peak at 2.84/2.96 as from Armoury Crate even didn't do anything
Temperature goes high
Battery drain quickly
"Android System" also taking all battery usage from Battery page
What I observed:
From running processes, "Google Play Service" always show up, which not the case in old firmware
What I've tried to fix:
Wipe data (all data not just cache) for Google Play service and Armoury Crate. After cleaned, seems the CPU back to 826Hz, but after I restart the device, it go back to 2.84/2.96 all the time
There may be something wrong on this?

It is Google Play Services not Play Store where you download apps.

Hi guys,

https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/36275/high-temperature-cpu-usage-battery-drain-on-2009-47/p2

As has been reported in the thread linked above, the CPU seems to be spiking because of a bug with the latest version of Google Play Store. It's affecting several models, ROG included. We're following up on this and I'll get back to you as soon as I know more.

Thanks,

@Gustav_ASUS it's again stuck at 2.96Ghz, and the same FpsCentralContr is at the top of the running processes, now i'm not sure what's causing this.

@nationkid couldn't find your thread for some reason. Try the one I posted above. A couple of the guys here found information about Google being the issue.
You can untick Clean up on Suspend now.

@Gustav_ASUS It's not just that, there's some issue with the updated Armoury crate too, if you set a game's screen refresh rate to Auto you also end up with high cpu usage from FpsCentralContr and it always stays at the top making the prime core run at max frequency.

I've cleared AC data and rebooted but now it crashes every single time i try to launch it, but the Prime core is now stable and works as intended.

I'll have to reset my device yet again it seems.

Thanks for letting me know. You could help us out with a device log, I'm sending you instructions via PM.

Hi @FiREPLAY , no offense, just tested on my own device.
changing refresh rate to Auto, save.
open the game, close the game, go back to AC. turn back to system default, save.
Through the process, cannot replicate your bug and CPU spike
