Basic functionality: Airtel voWiFi not available in India

Rising Star II
Please tell us some basic information before asking for help:
Model Name: RoG Phone 2
Firmware Version: 0.27 (Android 10, latest FOTA)
Rooted or not: Not
Frequency of Occurrence: Missing completely / All the time
APP Name & APP Version (If your issue relates to the app): System it self
Airtel carrier does support voice over wifi, since almost 6-8 months now.
Officially many entry level cheap smartphones too support this, say 100$ devices.

Its been 3-4 fota updates now, everytime changelog mentions some carrier's voWiFi is added, but still Number #1, by subscribers count India: Airtel's, voWiFi is not supported in RoG Phone 2

Why so? This should be coming from us, its not a feature request, its simply a missing basic functionality. This is really not the flagship experience we put our money for.
Please give us a ETA.

Airtel will of course focus on the number of devices from each brand that use Airtel. They're making the same amount of money on each user regardless if they have the cheapest or most expensive phone.

The support agent you spoke to is wrong. ASUS India needs to reach an agreement with Airtel. When they have agreed, then we need to test it so it works. After this, VoWiFI can be activated via FOTA.

So you could ask ASUS India how far they've gotten. If they believe that you might get it already this year. You also need to tell them which phone you have as VoWiFi is added by each device

I've made a query regarding this with Asus India in Q1. All I got was bot replies.
"Stay tuned to our official channels regarding any feature updates."
"We have forwarded your request to concerned teams."
"Any product improvements will be rolled out via official update channels, make sure you have lastest software version installed"
This is what all I got. I gave up.

Okay, see this what should have been communicated at first place. Whole "contracts" and stuff, as normal users won't know how this goes. "We are working on it" is such a vague thing.

Really appreciate this response @Anders_ASUS .

But then again I wonder, why the process taking this long? I mean 3rd tier brands, like Tecno and Mobil, are able to get that on their entry level offerings. Asus being tier 1 brand, it should he on priority level of airtel. Is something wrong?

Last I checked, only asus is not there in support devices list on Airtel website.

This means, no other asus device has this, not even 2 years old Zenfone 5 series.

Are we good with Airtel? Or is it complicated?

Forget Airtel! The 2 year old Asus 5 series doesn't even have VoWifi. We don't have VoWifi for Airtel or Jio or anything. We do not have a night mode for camera, VoWifi etc. 5z user here. Network in my area is terrible too but Asus 5z doesn't have VoWifi for any carrier. Neither is anyone doing anything about it. All competition smartphones from 2018 have it now for a long time.

Fair enough, but then again me asking them won't yield any productive answer, all social media handles only respond with some same "words", without any committed answers. What you told me here, @Anders_ASUS miles better explanation than what I could get on social channels of Asus india.
For example check this:

they just asked to confirm with airtel, I mean seriously? What should end customer do? Both concerned parties are bouncing us off.

And that's why I posted it here, knowing mods here, atleast will not put template replies. And conversation atleast moves ahead.

So I request @Anders_ASUS, please check on this, if it stuck, then why so, even if agreements are to be made, if financially 3rd tier brands can make it work, then sure asus can. And on the other hand why would airtel will treat asus any differently than other brands, ? (Like charging extra, unfair cuts etc.)
I can just speculate, but bottom line is, its not just a one device, none of asus's old phones got it, that just makes me worry, will we even get voWiFi ever? Please check this with internal team, atleast let us know "if its stuck / under works" if not the ETA.
