nishantkdI can't accept your terms, till last version of my device, i don't have battery problem at all, as same as your device, the night i update the security patch, i kept my phone charger in range of 70% the next morning there is only 15% left over, is this a hardware problem? Seems not. Till date i have maintained better battery cycle, i don't over charge mostly i charge 30 to 95% im not a heavy user, and I don't play heavy games or online games. And i have contacted customer care, and they ask to calibrate the battery, i have tried that too, but there is no difference even after calibration. And now don't tell me that my usage is bad that cause battery drain, everything is because of software,. I choose this device because of its battery backup and software,. I have used a other device before, for about 4 years, i thought this would also be used for 4 years, and it stands only for two, DISAPPOINTED!!!.https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/104191#Comment_104191
He isn't blindly supporting anything, he attached a screenshot too, the update isn't the problem, please check the condition of your battery, see if your device's back cover is bulging out, if so then the battery is swollen and you need to replace it, because however poor the update or signal strength maybe, no matter if the OS is properly optimised or not, the battery backup will never come down to 1 hr.
My device is almost 2 years old now, the battery capacity has come down to 4000mAh, didn't update to beta, my M1 Pro is on the latest pie firmware and I get pretty decent battery backup.
I havn't calibrated the battery for a long time, there are so many apps installed, nearly 70-80 applications, yet 7-8 hrs of SoT with nearly 25-30% charge remaining. When I got back home yesterday it was 50% with 5+ hrs of SoT.
Attaching the Screenshot for your refernce.

Never said and wil never mention bad usgae, there isn't anything as such. There are power user and even if you are a power user the battery should last a bit longer, only a few factors affect battery life the most and optimisation shouldn't be the first of them.
- Heat takes the heaviest of toll on battery life.
- Then comes network reception.
- Battery capacity is the last one, which is a hardware issue.
If you don't have any of these please check for wake locks and third party applications, I faced similar problem once but not to the same extent as yours, my SoT came down to 5 hrs and I went crazy, so I can understand how you must be feeling. In my case it was the media storage messing up with the battery.
