Network keeps switching from 4g to 2g

My asus 6z is switching to 2g even if 4g signal is there .I am currently on airtel and i have to force the phone on lte mode using *#*#4636#*#* .

hi may be 4g network is not strong in your area.. please check with airtel they should be able to resolve it... i am using JIO + Airtel and not facing such issues...

Didn't face this issue unless the 2G/3G signal is stronger than 4G in which case it switches to the stronger one.

I'm also facing this issue at times and sometimes the network completely goes away for a while. It didn't use to happen with my earlier phone. I guess network reception is not the strongest suit of this phone.
