Please tell us some basic information before asking for help:
Model Name: ROG PHONE 2
Firmware Version: 17.0240.2007.27
Rooted or not: not
Frequency of Occurrence: almost everyday
APP Name & APP Version (If your issue relates to the app): not app related
In addition to information above, please also provide as much details as you can, e.g., using scenario, what troubleshooting you've already done, screenshot, etc.
=======================================
While normally using the phone, the screen suddenly goes crazy , and every touch i make it does a totally different action. If i just touch the screen the notification panel drops down, if i swipe down it opens a random app and so on. Couldn't record anything because I couldn't drop the notification panel on purpose and when I try to press record from the shortcuts it wont recognize the touch input. Also it kind of remedies only if i lock the phone or after restart.

The same happens to me and I'm in the exactly same version. I didn't notice it before this last update, so maybe it's something software related.
Although it doesn't happen when it's charging, it happens completely at random times and very rarely. A full system reset always solves it for me, but it's very worrying.
I had an Oneplus 7 Pro that started with ghost touches after some months of use and after some days half the screen was unresponsive.
Please lemme know if a factory reset solved it.
Thanks in advance!

I can confirm this as it happens in my RoG 2 too every now and then, i am not hard resetting and stuff as it is super annoying and time consuming but what i do is to turn off the screen (and lock) then turn on again and the issue is gone. Does anyone else use an immersive manager to avoid possible AMOLED burn in from the notification bar as i do or not? Just guessing if that's the problem, which i doubt tho.
