Dear Asus team I am facing the same issue in my ROG phone 3, buying a so expensive device and after that a issue showing up that is not good. Even I have taken screen shot that screen shot is also blackish. Should I go for the refund.
Screen lock 120 are software bug they can fix thru software but black crush is hardware cum software, if they addres issue soon they give solutions but i guess they never gonna address them like oneplus and samsung .so ,try to return or replacement
By the way guys black crush is "kinda" normal in high refresh hz phones
Phones with high hz panels are calibrated accordingly
Hence a little tint and black crush should be normal in my opinion
If you see other phones with refresh rates >90hz then you'll see the same queries, complains (the most recent oneplus 8pro for example has so many display related complains)
I think this is the nature of the OLED
If black crush is "too much" try replacing your units till you settle on something acceptable
All I can say is don't think much about this or read too much about these display issues it'll just make you more paranoid
And considering you'll only see this at very low brightness (0% mostly) isn't it manageable 🤔
If you have little black crush just don't pay it much attention and enjoy your phone :D
But as ARP Asus above said wait for Asus to issue and official statement regarding the same
Yeah bro u said right but in rog 3 black crush is im next level even wooden colour is crushed in to black its tooooooo much when compared to oneplus 8 pro and some other phone btw they is no issue so far ,for my fellow youtubers why do they send proper unit to youtubers and worst unit for customers.
Btw ,u can see crush in video call ,even in selfi camera ,even at 100% brightness 😅in this phone so its not normal
Hi guys same problem here in Italy bought from official eshop store, black crush when watching videos specially on Prime and Netflix..let's see what Asus say about that.
I am facing the same issue and I am the first one to report here..Do you face any audio issue with the cable they have provided. Like any crackling sound ?
Just noticed it in my phone too! I noticed it while I was playing yesterday (medium high brightness but that part of the screen was in shadow in the game) and today too, with medium (50%) brightness on dark spots in pics. Sometimes I can still see it with 100% brightness, if the pic itself is dark
I just want to let you know that Netflix, Youtube and more services are being investigated
What I can say at the moment is that you shouldn't touch the built in brightness bar in Netflix. Normally, it controls the system brightness but for some reason it doesn't. If you have more or less than 50% (in netflix), the image will have either too much or too little gamma. Only use the system brightness bar to adjust your brightness

Hi everyone,
Thank you for highlighting this, I will check with the team and also on my unit.
Do note that there can be different color & temp on different phones. Screen color or temp may vary device to device.
Let me check and get back to you with exact explanation.
Same here... Heavy black crushes during hotstar, YouTube(some videos), Amazon prime and Netflix.. please check if it's an hdr issue?
Santhosh
This looks like a normal unit to me

What to do if the replacement item has the same issue. Should we get refund or we have use the phone with these defects.
