SCREEN COATING/PROTECTIVE LAYER IS PEELING OFF

I recently noticed that the black coating/layer around the screen is peeling off . I don't know what is this. I don't know if it's something to be worried about. Should i contact service centre or ia it normal? the layer peeled off completely on one side and half peeled on another side(long side/length). Attaching images of the layer peeling. Does anyone have this problem?

Hi @mr.strange,

Sorry to hear about this,

Kindly visit the nearest service center:

Due to the lockdown, service centers may not be functional. Kindly call the service center before you visit one.

Thanks for the reply. Can i know what's that and is it okay if i use the phone for some extra time due to lockdown, is a service urgent? And finally is that covered under warranty?

I can't think of any reason why it would be "unsafe" to use. Unless you see some kind of exposed metal or electronics, it should be cosmetic only.
As for whether this is covered by warranty, that would be up to the discretion of the service center.

In some devices I saw in Jerry Rig Everything's YouTube Channel, this is plastic used between the glass panel and cellphone body (like in this video, starting at 2:12: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oYdq6ri6eg ). I don't know if this situation can produce any damage on your device, if you unsure of that, I suggest yout take your device to nearest service care and have them take a look.
