I've decided to bring my phone to service center, and they said the camera hardware is okay, they simply downgrade the firmware and the camera came back clear, but after upgrading the firmware to the latest version, the blurry camera is back.
I think the culprit is faulty firmware 16.0615.1905.102
Trying to downgrade it again to see if it is indeed the latest firmware that faulty. Brb.
What version of firmware are you currently using after the downgrade?
It was WW_16.0615.1905.100, and then 105 update came, it bring the problem back.
Now another FAULTY update is coming, WW_16.0615.1908.109, it completely "destroy" camera quality... it can't even use manual focus.
Take a first look at Asus' finest firmware to date....
Attachment not found.
Look at all that amazing detail, mesmerizing...
Now that's what I call an AI Camera! WAY TO GO ASUS!
@ikkigooners Dude.. Now I am also facing the same problem with Zenfone 5Z.. What was the final solution to sort out? And how much it costed to replace the camera module in 5Z? Please reply dude. Thanks!

Same issue here. Camera is not focusing on far objects. No hardware damage. It stopped focusing suddenly. Tried almost every solution but nothing happened.

Hi manmeetbhagat

If your model is Zenfone 5 (ZE620KL), kindly provide the information below so that we could better assist you
1. Your current firmware version

If you try to update to the latest version, does the issue still remain?
2. Since which firmware have you encountered the camera not focus issue?
3. Does it appear on the stock camera only or on other camera apps (e,g. Instagram) as well?
Please try clearing cache & storage of Camera (long press "Camera">App Info>Storage & memory>Clear cache/Clear storage), and try to re-install 3rd party camera apps and check again.
4. Please try to enter "Safe Mode". If the function works well in Safe Mode yet the issue remains out of Safe Mode, please check on any disturbance from the installed 3rd party apps.

Hi, I recently update my phone with the new version. And Im having the same issue with the REAR CAMERA of my Asus 5Z. I already tried doing the basic troubleshooting steps. Any help please.
Take your phone to service center if possible. Camera module needs to be replaced.
I have updated the latest version but the camera error cannot focus not yet corrected
After trying a lot of things, HERE IS THE FIX:
I had the exact same problem described in here and without having to reset to factory settings I was able to solve this issue. I hope this solves all of your problem.
