Well instead of fixing the issue making users being able to get back to the call via the notification panel when the call would still be incoming. You decided to freeze it so it'll never be ignored. Wow Communist logic, soon you'll be China or even better North Korea.??
  • I really think this thread is delete worthy @CH_ASUS
  • Well, I think the conversation here is relevant. There's nothing wrong in feeling ZenUI does not work in the way as expected - although approach maybe isnt the most helpful . Nonetheless, this will happen - we cannot make functions that are 100% to everyone's liking.

We've explained the logic in the previous thread - it's not a bug and as such it is nothing that should be "fixed". There have been feedback throughout the years on this Call screen behavior ,  both for and against. In ZenUI6 we have not altered it - it doesnt mean we never will - if more and more users feel that this is a function that is a high priority - it is not outside of our scope to tweak it in the future. At this stage, our devs are prioritizing other things to address.

Every change will always bring about some dissatisfaction.

The issue this guy mentions is actually real and a practical hassle. Look into it if possible.

As I've already mentioned, to him and to others, currently the way we designed it is as such.
Some people do not like it this way - some do. What we hear here is not the "only" or "true" voice of all users.

Every change will always bring about some dissatisfaction.

That being said, and I re-iterate once again, we still bring this topic back and see if there can be changes/adaptations made in the future.

If this is a deal breaking function for you, then at this point, we can only say that ZenUI does not conform to what you need and you would have to look elsewhere.
  • I'm not taking sides here, but whatever feature you're asking for or complaining about? It makes sense to you but I have no idea what you're talking about.

Talking about the capability to use the phone normally when a call is ringing by minimzing the call interface.

Mods say that android has coded it that way and its not zenui specific..
  • Even understand want to avoid calls sometimes so...it is a good feature...i mean what could go wrong
May be with nxt android update we have to expect it
  • Well, though his choice of words is not the best but he does have a point. It is annoying when you just can't use the phone if you're to ignore the call until the call ends
  • In the mentioned closed thread was this comment:

But it is not true at all that it is a Google design, it is an Asus only design choice.

I don't know any other stock Android device which has the same behaviour. All my previous devices are with stock Android experience (like Google Nexus 5X, Xiaomi Mi A1 with Android One, ...).

Solution for me was to install Google Phone and of course Google Contacts I am used to from previous devices with pure Android, now the behaviour for incoming calls, or during calls is correct and stock as it should be.

Unfortunately, Google Phone cannot be installed on the ZF6 from the Play Store, so I'm using the XDA version:

Yes its working correctly. Asus must implement atleast this.

My previous phone had crossed eye logo in bottom left side when i got call what it does just hide incoming call to notification area without disconnecting it so we user can use our phone as usual. It was so convenient

    Like in the pic

  • That's what I heard from Asus's staff here and an xda user - it has been changed in Android Pie sources to lock incoming call screen and prevent users from as accidentally hiding call. I said it was mentioned not that I am the source of that. If really no other phone do that, then sorry for misinformation.

  • Thank you for the honest reply. It was not personal, I just wanted to make the information right :)

I have experience with stock Google Android till Pie version from other devices.

Just installing a Google Phone (dialer) solves most of the problems, except this: the power button can't turn off the screen during a call, the proximity sensor keeps it on when it is trigerred. Which is another strange Asus decision, see this my comment in other thread:
