Detailed description:For more than a year now I can not solve the problem with the inoperability of the laptop after trying to go to sleep. The laptop turns off the screen, the power indicator remains on. You can turn on the laptop only after holding the power button for a long time. What was done: a complete (clean) reinstallation of the system, installing drivers from the Asus website. Reading the discussions posted here, I understand that the problem is common. The only solution that helps: never turn off the screen. Maybe there are other options? I contacted the service center: they believe that there are no hardware problems. Warranty has ended.

My laptop doesn't always turn on when plugged in. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. I've tried a host of things but nothing works except unplugging the power cord from the laptop to turn it on and then plug it back in.
have you done Battery calibration? , if not means, do this at first.
If possible, I would like to hear the answer to the message of the author of the topic.
At first drain power from battery completely, then disconnect all external devices connected to laptop, including charger, then press and hold power button for 120 seconds and then release the button.
Then connect Charger to laptop, allow the charge to 30 minutes, then disconnect charger, power on laptop.
These actions did not lead to success. The laptop is still inoperable after attempting to go to sleep. It's impossible to wake him up. Only a long press of the power button allows you to restart the laptop
What you are suggesting is not working. The laptop still freezes after trying to go to sleep. Only a long press of the power button allows you to restart the laptop
Is your laptop processor is form intel?, Then install latest intel graphics driver from Intel website, before installing, uninstall existing Intel graphics driver from your system..
Also i suspected many applications are running background and consuming lots amount of RAM memory, this results gives freeze..
Two more things , many tasks are started and running continuously without your knowledge.
Yes, the laptop uses an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8550U CPU @ 1.80GHz. Now I tried to install the video adapter driver 30.0.101.1934 (you suggest installing it in a similar topic). Note that if I completely uninstall the video adapter driver and use the base Microsoft video adapter, then the laptop works as expected (except for screen resolution, etc.).
For screen resolution, an intel graphics card driver needs to be installed.
i upload to two batch files, download and execute with administrator rights,
before doing executing, create system restore point
one file, will delete most of the junk files residing in C:\ note only a few files could not be deleted
another file will delete most schedule tasks
can't download file. No access
Unable to download the file. No access
removed restrictions
Did not help. As soon as the laptop is idle, after a while, after the screen goes blank, the laptop freezes. No programs are running.
Then technician should physically verify the windows installed. So take your laptop to nearest laptop or wait to get reply from moderator from asus
I have the option to completely reinstall Windows using the Media Creation Tool. I already did it before. The information on this laptop is not valuable (not important). Perhaps I should try installing earlier official versions of Windows?
i am not living nearest your place ,, if there means, I would personally check the windows and try to findthe root causes.
I am not using your model laptop, my laptop specs below your spec laptop, even though windows 11 rtm enterprise build no 22000.652 preview on intel i5 7200U , this processor is unsupported for windows 11 which is mentioned in spec page .
Also your laptop processor is Core(TM) i7-8550U CPU, Is your processor is flashed with latest intel ME firmware .
go to below intel website
Intel® Converged Security and Management Engine Version Detection Tool (Intel® CSMEVDT)
download the zip file, unzip file, open the folder "CSME_Version_Detection_Tool_Windows\DiscoveryTool.GUI"
execute this file "CSME-Version-Detection-Tool.exe" with admin rights , see below picture
If system is not vulnerable means, your processor is safe , it shows in GREEN,
if shows in RED means , your processor is vulnerable , your laptop processor must be flashed with special firmware
can't download file. No access
@okna2003
If your computer is out of warranty and you have tried a system restore but the problem persists. Maybe as you said, you could consider to install the system for other operating systems. Sorry for any inconvenience it may be caused.
Yes. Now installed Windows 10 20H2 19042.1682. All updates are installed automatically. The installation is done with the complete removal of the previous system (formatting).
