Asus Zenfone 8 Fingerprint sensor

The fingerprint sensor isn't working for my new Asus Zenfone 8. Is there any way to fix this or is it likely to be a problem with my particular phone? I have tried erasing and resetting my fingerprints in normal and glove mode to see if that helped. I have also done all the updates and rebooted the phone. Thanks
