Activating warrenty

Trying to activate the ‘complimentary’ 1 year accidental damage protection but after registering the chromebook and navigating to the ‘activate service package’ page it is asking for the contract code and password from the VIP card. There was no card in the packaging. So now what? Have I just wasted my time on a false promise?

    For chromebook products, some B2B channels sell products with accidental damage protection directly, and customer don't need to activate it.

    But for some other retail channels, customers would need to buy extra warranty package, which customers are given the VIP cards.
