ASUS ZenBook Flip 15 unstable with Ubuntu
- System: ASUS ZenBook Flip 15
- Battery or AC: Either
- Model: UX564EH
- Frequency of occurrence: Every 10 minutes?
- Reset OS: Yes
- Screenshot or video:
Installing Ubuntu wasn't straightforward, but was possible as follows:
- Disable Optane
- Add nouveau.modeset=0 to Linux startup options of installer
- Install Ubuntu
- Install proprietary nvidia drivers in Software Update
However, after that, Ubuntu still isn't working great. Idle CPU seems high, scrolling is not smooth, and after a while, the touchpad and keyboard stop responding to input, forcing a hard reset. It's unfortunate, because I like the device and it seems to work great in Windows, but not being able to dual boot with Ubuntu is a dealbreaker and I may have to take it back to Best Buy.
Any tips for how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
