Zenfone 8 build-in speaker(s)
Hi,
want to know does Zenfone 8 have two build-in speakers or just one (at the top)?
It seems the bottom "speaker" is just a bass reflex port (hole with no mesh).
Could somebody from Asus R&D comments this?
Please don't redirect me to the specs on the official Asus website.
Since there is also wrong information regarding the digital output via 3,5 mm jack. Zenfone 8 doesn't have such feature despite it's stated on the website.
Maybe information on speaker(s) is also wrong there?

Hey, happy to report that the last firmware update fixed it! Both speakers work fine now. Very strange bug, I would not have expected it to be software only.
That last firmware also restored the ability to create groups in the app drawer, which was broken at some point.

Obviously it have two speakers, and this on the bottom is way better than upper. You can just choke bottom speaker by finger and will hear huge difference in sound.
I was actually impressed with the speakers, best speakers I've heard on a phone.
@fepota The Zenfone 8 has stereo speakers.
What about the 3.5 mm earphone jack is incorrect on the official product page?
Each of the two excellent speakers is powered by its own mono amplifier. This is the setup you will also see in high end hifi arrangements. Enjoy :)
Thanks for replies.
It seems my Zenfone 8 has the faulty bottom speaker:(
My first Asus, bought it brand new just 3 days ago.
Such a pity:(
Exactly the same issue. I've had the phone for a month and the bottom speaker is 100% dead, as if not connected or the amp dead. I am not sure it ever worked.
@fepota @bruno.zarokian Sorry to hear that. Have you been in contact with an ASUS service center about your speaker issues?
@fepota Can you please clarify what you meant by: ".. wrong information regarding the digital output via 3,5 mm jack. Zenfone 8 doesn't have such feature despite it's stated on the website." ?

On the ZF 8 tech specs page is stated:
"Hi-Res Audio 384 kHz / 32-bit standard for 3.5mm output"
It looks like a digital signal could be transferred via 3.5 mm jack on ZF 8.
Some devices have a combined analog/digital output via 3.5 mm jack, but ZF 8 doesn't.
@fepota That refers to the DAC being able to decode 384/32 for the analog 3.5 mm ouput. We've feedbacked to the web team.
