I've sent my request yesterday and maybe after 4hrs I've received an email with my RMA number and information that UPS will pick it up today. I would say that less than 24hrs in my case so pretty fast. We will see if service is also that fast :)
I've packed everything I got and was in box once I've received it (case, charger, documents, etc).
@daniel91m did he answer you privately again?
Surely this thread will be closed again soon.
@rafal.osko they replace the mainboard. Which also have your memory. So you will lose all your files.
How long did they have yours and were abouts are you please country wise?
definitely, there is a problem with the spare part availability. in my case, the spares were dispatched from outside India and are yet to arrive. It's been 2+ weeks and I'm just waiting :(
1 week and couple days. Im in singapore.
@NaitikK there was no issue with availability with mine. Though there are still questions left unanswered here. And they refuse to let us know. We dont know if the sparepart used is better or will not fail like the original part. Otherwise, you will risk your files again. They wont give us the reason why this ramdump even occur. This is just bad, bad product, bad service.
i am going through their poor services as well. What I have observed is that so-called service leaders are unaware of stuff like spare logistics. they simply cannot provide detailed tracking details. maybe the infrastructure is responsible for this. also, the practices are shady like overcharging customers, temporary fixes, etc.
i have gone through many posts where the handset fails due to mobo months after repair. I am scared that doesn't happen to my phone. It's been already 6+ weeks and it's still not repaired.
Mine still hasn't even been picked up yet. By the time it's been picked up abs they start looking for the part, it could be weeks if not months. The poor communication is definitely causing me grief, as I'm not very optimistic that they can resolve this issue soon for me.
@NaitikK yeah, i will not risk to go through this again. Will try to sell my zenfone 8 asap once i get it back. They stopped replying to my email when i insist on getting a refund or a replacement unit. They just want you to accept the damages don by their repair service and move along.
I had some good things to say with the phone itself, but overall experience with it and the brand is just terrible. They should just stop making handphones and focus on computers.
@marzvin yeah, imagine if they just simply offer you a replacement unit? It would made everything acceptable right? But they want you to suffer and them being not sorry. LOL.
@Gustav_ASUS so any word why this ramdump is happening? Any updates? Anything?
I also tried to reason with them, about a replacement phone and was literally told, there is nothing we can do. It's really sad, because I've had to get another phone now and definitely selling it off when it returns and to be honest, I doubt I would ever buy an Asus again, as the experience has been awful.
Join you in mourning. I do not remember the last time I was so disappointed with the purchase of electronic equipment... I felt like a beta tester, and now, when the phone broke and waiting for spare parts, I am reaching the decision to say goodbye to zenfone8. I am very sad, because on paper (excluding wireless charger) the phone seemed perfect.
I was asked for the serial number and rma number - I don't even know why
I'm wondering when Asus will give some official statement about faulty motherboards that are dying in ZF8. Looks quite similar to LG G4 defect in the past.
Now I've copied all my stuff to PC and I'm waiting when my ZF8 will die, I'll get (hopefully) some refund and I'll buy another phone 😅😆
Don't you guys use Google Account (and Google Photos and Google Drive) to backup your devices on a regular basis? I'm shocked that so many people mention loosing data. Phones are electronic devices, that can break anytime. Manufacturer doesn't matter. They can be stolen, may fall to water, etc.
Additionally moving to another device, or restoring after full wipe is a breeze.
Łukasz - the question what are the legal grounds for applying for a refund from the seller? (excluding the service resignation from warranty repair). If you have any information, please write me a private message.
@jakislogin2 I was on vacation - two weeks without wifi (I had a backup only within wifi ... I lost most of the photos from the trip), besides, you lose indefinite access to the application, i.e. banking, etc ....
@lukasz.szabelski we literally asked then directly and they basically ignored us why this is happening.
@jakislogin2 i do have back ups, however, i do not use google photos to backup up my photos. I dont like the idea of uploading personal photos up there in the cloud haha.
But what hassles the most is you cant access the otp apps, like steam guard etc. You have to set it up all over again.
@daniel91m yeah, still no explanation why.lol
I gave up fighting for a refund. Literally just a waste of time. Obviously they do not care and just want your money.
