Alright so here is the trend which i wanted the Moderators here to consider after i have been asking people like @Anna-Kin that the problem was with the phone that he received but i was wrong. Yes initially even i did get 9+ hrs of SOT and also 1 time i achieved 11hrs SOT. But for the past 2days i have been calculating my SOT in various ways of app usage and found that its just 6.3hrs only max. Same was achieved by Dynamic mode and Advanced Mode.
Let me know if you guys need any details from my side.@Anders_ASUS @Gustav_ASUS
hey guy, i have a question, i set up the charging limit to 80%. As before they are just fine but recently when i charge, it is not reset the cycle of battery usage and keep counting. As you can see in the picture the cycle began 2 day ago, when i charge it back to 80% the chart go up but dont reset the counting and keep count from the charge before. Any idea of fixing it? Thanks all.
I agree with @Reaperzwolf it seems that the battery issue is with the OS/Software and not with the hardware.
This battery issue is being faced by a lot of ROG Phone 5 users, and should not be ignored by ASUS, so Mods, kindly do not ignore this issue, we will gladly help with any kind of feedback or usage chart you might need for analysis.
I tried this method and at this stage I think it helps. I uninstalled accubattery then reinstalled it so I could get a realistic reading. Almost 2 days since doing your nuclear battery calibration and I have 50% battery still so that is a great sign . I will let you know what accubattery says my capicty is once it evaluates it .
Thanks for the tip it seems to work well 🙂 RGDS Roy
Did I say, works well, if this keeps up I should say, works incredibly well 👍 very cool Tip
Hi All there,
Having same problem with draining battery rapidly without run huge energy consuming apps, like games or else. Just today morning had 75% at 6 am, used music on BT, some usage of Chrome, FB, voice call, WA and so. At 9 am it's only ~30% left. Got the phone less that month ago, didn't realized till last week, as started not leaving for charging over night.
Comparing to my previous "ordinary" smartphone (Huawei Y9) battery draining span is deadly enormous...😪
Will try today the option Reaperzwolf suggested, but it looks quite "dense" solution for the stuff produced in 2021...)))
Hi, did you get expected "upgrade" with battery daily lifespan on ROG Phone5?..
1st factory reset the phone and then do the above mentioned process. As of now i am getting 10hrs of SOT which sounds good to me
I'm going to be trying the steps today to recalibrate the battery. Hopefully I don't need a factory reset too though.
Will try today as well without reset...)
I did it and it helped!! My SOT is 45 minutes at the moment with 87% and 12 hours of phone idle.
Honestly I'd expect better from a 6000mAH battery, but .56 apparently messed with the battery consumption. Hopefully ASUS addresses that too.
How much standby do you have with 10hrs of SoT, and what's the refresh rate you're using? I have like 23:30hrs of standby with 4 hours of SoT, and it's at 39%, always at 120hz. I honestly can't figure out if this is good or not lol.
SOT will be approx 10 hrs, with 8% battery left. Stand-by time varies because i generally multitask on this device specially via video calls, normal calls and entertainment like youtube and movies. Will check and update you more
I generally don't let my battery drop beyond 20% so I'd love to have more info on your device. Thanks!
Will do that. I generally charge till 80%,so right now am charging it to 💯 to share my usage patterns.
Yeah my usage is generally charge to 100% and charge again when it reaches 20% max, and I tend to play a lot of games and browse social media a lot. The games aren't as heavy as COD but they do get the components up to around 40ºC sometimes.
Can you share your advanced customised settings to achieve the SOT off 11+ hours ?
It's in page 3 of this thread. ;)
Thanks found it ☺️👍
Here's my usage for the past day. I used it normally from 100% to 15%. What do you think? 🤔
Keep in mind I run all games at max settings and the screen is always set to 120hz.
Well keeping in mind 120hz i would say still it could have been better i guess as not much consumption by apps in the chart. Mine is kept at 60hz so can't comment much. I would suggest keep it at auto mode and set battery to Dynamic and get back once with your SS. I am soon going to share my SS of battery usage, which i hope can help you all
