Vivobook S work for ROG XG49VQ Monitor?

Hi there.

I own a vivobook S and recently bought a ROG XG49VQ monitor to run off it. I am struggling to get the laptop to fit the full screen. Can somebody give me some advice? I dont know much about computers.
