Android 11 upstate

What's the meaning that ROG 3 will get Android update after ROG5. If u can update regularly then why do you release next version...??? I bought flagship ROG3 n still no update. There is no mean providing top notch hardware with pathetic update service. That all becomes meaningless. 56 K ROG 3 doesn't support jio volte video calling, n others people are using volte video calling on 6k mobile (Poco, Vivo, Oppo). It has been 9 month that ASUS ROG people working on developing software. Does it really takes that much to update VOLTE video calling...??? Dear, Asus ur app service is really disappointing. At least provide basic video VOLTE (JIO) calling feature.
.
It's my huble advice, ASUS SHOULD WIN TRUST OF CUSTOMER FIRST RATHER THAN GETTING BUSY IN ATTRACTING NEW CUSTOMER. We are here to update truth of ur SERVICE.

Hi,
"What's the meaning that ROG 3 will get Android update after ROG5"
Can you share from where you got this info?
Also, I am not sure if you are asking or understanding the question.
VOLTE (Voice over LTE) and ViLTE (Video over LTE) these are 2 different terms here.
VoLTE is present is ROG Phone 3 and it works flawlessly. Currently you can use Video calling feature using any 3rd party App as those are the most used ones.
ROG Phone 3 has been receiving updates frequently.
If you have further concerns please share I will be happy to respond to it
I have the Rog 3 - 16Gb and I do not have VolTE ... so it is not present in ALL Rog 3
It's March ... and we're still on the December security patch ... so sorry, but rog3 does NOT get frequent updates.
I think they mean Because now that they rog 5 is out the rog 3 will get android 11
Volte/VoWiFi is not working in Australia, does this mean that it'll be added soon? Because *quite alot* of people have asked for volte in Australia
It's definitely an Asus thing, I've contacted my provider and they have confirmed that VoLTE is activated in my account, however the device is not IMS registered or has VoLTE support.
*Please* add volte for Australia
The request should be .. "please add VolTE to all"
I mean ROG 5 with Android 11 launched yesterday still precedor ROG 3 not updated yet. That itself clear ROG 3 getting after release.
Second, Video over LTE feature not here in india. It doesn't support video calling on 4g (JIO). We hv to take support of either duo or whatsapp. What's the meaning investing huge bucks on flagship and relying other apps for video calling.
Hope u get it.
M still confused, if 8k oppo, Vivo n other handset provide Videos calling on 4g without relying on secondary app. Then why not ASUS ROG3....???? One end ROG provide top-notch specs and another end ROG not able to provide basic feature of Video call (4g jio) independently. STRANGE. It need duo, Whatsapp or any other secondary app. Forget about Android 11 update ....
I'll agree with this, I think a lot of people think the same. Awesome hardware but very VERY lacking in the software and updates dept, if Asus keep releasing new phones and leaving the old ones to die without giving them the very basic of features like VoLTE/ViLTE then it just shows they're in it for the money and not the long haul
Why should i use third party app....??? Thats what I want to point out.
.
N it's not convinient way. Not all people in contact list are always present in single app like whatsapp or duo. It mean we should download multiple app for according to whom we are calling (video). U can't mention it as "FLAWLESS".
Agreed.
.
It has been 8 month, i am switching app according to my contact list. Whatsapp for Whatsapp user, duo for duo user and signal for signal user.
.
Pathetic....!!!!
Why should rely on third party app...??? That mean i have to download third party app as per my contact list user. Whatapp for whatapp user, signal for signal, telegram for telegram user.
WOW, so u really think it's FLAWLESS way....????
VoLTE and ViLTE services aren't only turned on by Asus. Your mobile service provider must also support it and have it activated for each type of handset. You will find that they normally only do this for the phones they provide from their shops and ones that providers of phones work on getting activated. Remember there is lots of providers all around the world they have to do this on. Not just the one your on.
Asus must then release a firmware to activate it for each carrier that now supports the handset. A simple Google search will tell you all about this.
As for the patching, a quarterly upday schedule for security patches outside of major bug fixes (IE the recent fix for HD playback with Widevine) is perfectly acceptable. I for one would rather wait for a more polished Android 11 update than a buggy one.
ViLTE is actually partially available in this device in India. With Jio and Google dialer I'm using this feature, but sadly it's not available for airtel.
Are you getting ViLTE feature....????
m not getting, here in mumbai (Neither jio nor airtel). If yes then Why it is partially available....??? As per my circle, nobody here getting ViLTE feature in ROG3.
This is status of video calling ViLTE in ROG3 since launched. That mean, we hv to b parasite for ViLTE on Duo or Whatsapp.
.
Insane....!!!
Henceforth, m switching ROG 3 to my samsung note. I would recommend everybody on YouTube and INSTA for NOT to buy Asus/ROG. That's it.
How long we hv to wait for ViLTE on ROG3....???? Can u specify....????
It has been 7 month. I cn understan about Android 11 update it may take time. But its, hard to deal with basic calling feature like ViLTE ( for various people from contact list). Everytime swapping app for video calling is really irritating. I hv to plan first to call as per app.... Sad.
N still if u think 7 month are less to develop ViLTE feature, then its meaningless.
.
N why ASUS launch their device with support of third party feature. Cant they develop first n then launch...???
.
Its basic FEATURE, why cant Asus team understands....??? I would be happy if i can raise my issue with Asus india head, but i dont hv that option. Why should we compromise with Whatsapp, duo or third party app after paying 56,999/- rs...??? Already privacy issue is going with whatsapp.
.
Wake up.
After turning this "carrier video calling" option on, I'm now able to make direct video call from Google dialer. Sim2 has jio in my phone. With airtel, neither this "carrier video calling" nor "wifi calling" is enabled. These two options don't exist in airtel,But as per the officials the VoWifi for airtel will be rolling out anytime soon. So, let's see.
I have done same settings dear, but it's a Google dialer that takes u duo app for video calling. What if d person whom u calling dont hv duo app....??? Its not possible for everybody. Asus doesn't provide videos calling option in their dialer. That's what m saying.
They won't provide it and mods have clarified that if I recall correctly
The solution was to use duo :)
Vilte is a relic of the past I don't know if any phones do have it right now especially in flagship range
I remember last using video calling through dialer in 2016/17 on an old Onida I had back then
