My son turned off his computer whilst the BIOS was updating, and now we need to recover the BIOS via USB.
The message sounds:
1 Download BIOS file from asus offical website
2 Put in under the root directory on storage device
3 Turn off computer
4 Plug in the storage device and keep your computer connected to the power adapter
5 Turn on your computer and then recovery will start autmatically
I have done all of the above, but the same message keeps coming up.
I have used a formated (fat32) USB device, and saved the bios file on the root directory.
Do I need to rename the BIOS file for this to work?
Thanks for any input!

Thank you for your reply.
I have tried this, but it still starts up with the same notification on the screen (the 1-5 mentioned above).
This comes up, altthough I have done alle of this things.
Tell me correct model number which is stored in bios display.
Modelnr of the computer is G712
The Bios I have downloaded on usb is named: G712LWS-AS.311
I also checked the website for bios firmware,
it downloaded in zip file, did you unzipped the file and copied only
G712LWS-AS.311 file to root of usb pendrive.
For kind information, in few asus laptops, name of model number is different from bios model.
for example take my laptop.
name of model is R542UQ ,
but in bios model is X542UQ
so I always Install X542UQ bios firmware only
Yes, I have done this, The only file on the pendrive is this.
So, where do I find the BIOS model if I cannot enter the computer?
check in laptop box.
I do not have this box anymore, but I will search on asus homepage where I have registraded the computer.
login into Microsoft account, then see under Devices
Thank you for your help, I did not find it.
I need to send it to repair I think.
did you logged in Microsoft account and seen under devices
I do not have a microsoft account where this device is connected, so I do not know how to do this.
I'm sorry to hear this.
Please kindly send the device to service center to reflash the BIOS.
Thank you for your help.
