Lines or screen flicker when taking photos of Zenfone screen with camera or mobile phone

Lines or screen flicker may occur when taking photos of the Zenfone's OLED (Organic Light Emitting Display) display with a camera or mobile phone.

This phenomenon results from the OLED display which uses PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation) to dim the brightness.

The PWM happens at a very high rate so it can't be perceived by the human eyes.

Only when the camera shutter speed is within a certain range can you see lines or screen flicker occur

 

 

 

To minimize the appearance of these on your photos, try the following tips:

 (a) Set the Zenfone screen brightness to maximum level.

 (b) Adjust the camera shutter speed and ISO.

 

Lines appear on camera preview screen or photos.
