For professional digital photography, using RAW format in their photos is getting common. Unlike the commonly-used JPG format which undergoes post processing and compression, RAW format is an uncompressed file that saves the complete data captured by sensor of camera such as white balance, exposure value, color contrast. This allows users to have flexibility to edit and correct problems. Available mostly in professional digital cameras, ZenFone 3 Zoom/ZenFone Zoom S supports RAW format and allows users to shoot and browse RAW files right on the phone.
Taking the photos in RAW format
Use ASUS PixelMaster Camera to shoot photos and save in RAW format, and you can further enhance photos with professional effects during post-processing stage.
Launch Camera, tap 
and select Manual. On the Manual screen, tap 
on the upper left corner; then check Save RAW file.
Note: Unlike a JPG/JPEG file which processed in compressed format, a RAW file is uncompressed and may occupy more space in storage.
Browse and view RAW photos
RAW files are stored in DNG format. Such files can’t be opened/viewed in your computer or other mobile devices directly unless they are converted to a readable format. With ASUS Gallery, you can instantly browse RAW files without downloading other conversion apps.
Launch Gallery, tap 
> Settings and turn on Show RAW images. Tap 
to go back to Gallery’s browsing screen. The RAW files show RAW on the upper-left corner. Open the file, tap anywhere on the photo, then tap 
to view the photo’s details.
Export and edit RAW photos
After you captured and saved photos in RAW format, you may try to enhance the effect by photo-editing tools. However, RAW files occupy a lot of storage, we suggest you sync these photos to your cloud account then save them in your computer. Tap 
on the toolbar then select your preferred cloud app. In addition, you can also download a third-party photo editing app that supports RAW and apply the enhancements directly on your phone.
