I have recieved .122 update and after updating I'm still facing widevine and BLACKCRUSH issue.

I already updated and I my widevine has been downgraded to L3 :(
I'm not sure I'm updating or downgrading and I'm tired of going to the service center and leaving my phone for a week again.
Didn't happen to me. Looks like you have to get it addressed at a service center.
Black crush is still there. Feeling I have a problem with my display in one of the corners especially.
My Widevine has been degraded too after .122 update. Didn't face the problem till .99 update. Guess I'll have to reflash the firmware using ADB.
@Anders_ASUS will I be able to regain the L1 status if the firmware is reflashed? I can't visit service center and leave the phone for like eons as this is my daily driver. I've already flashed firmware before in my previous phones and even in ROG-3 after .99 update.
My widevine is still L3 and don't knw what is happening here. Mine got downgraded with .99 update and many others got downgraded after.122 update. @Gustav_ASUS it's just not a plausible solution to make us visit the service center all the time. We need a different resolution mode here.
Black crush will be prevailing since it can only be improved. We will have to either live with it..or drag asus to the court..or sell our device.
Agreed, not worried about black crush a lot anyway. Can be remedied by screen balance. As I said a bit concerned worried about on particular part of the display which I think is a hardware problem. Even that works okay with screen balance.
Did you try with YouTube and other content other than OTTs . Is it still prevailing? Did you try to check your display accuracy throught 3 rd party apps? If it's still persistent you may want to claim your warranty
Yes I did. Even viewing photos still has the problem. Will take out some time and visit the service center and see if I can get the display/phone replaced.
What app would you suggest for display accuracy? I haven't done that.

You can try display calibration or diplay tester in playstore
I can tell only 2 things:
-the Black Crush is worse than .99 because the overlay was removed, even if on prime video is still active somehow
-I never had widevine problem, I still have L1
Asus even mentioned in update note that the grayscale was fixed, sign that this is the real problem, but it wasn't fixed at all.
Huge disappointment as usual.
I bought phone for gaming and I'm extremely satisfied of this, but display is just ridiculus

Hi Asus team,
I bought the ROG3 yesterday and I've observed the Black crush issue. Attaching pictures for reference. I was hoping for it to be fixed because i heard the issue before buying it. Please don't make me regret my decision.
Even after the latest update I am facing the issue. I think it's a software issue rather than hardware, I have downloaded the screen balance app and enabled it and it drastically changed. I literally cannot see that Black crush issue any more, but that doest mean I will have to use that forever. So please do take this seriously and fix it. I do understand that the management has to approve it but, do let them know about it because it affects the user experience which can cause trouble later.

i have also black crush at hdr settings medium brightness
only at max brightness its start disapear in youtube hdr

Kid you talk to your mother with that mouth....you need to learn to talk first...grow up.....and did you even research it properly.....it's a software issue.
Screen balance app.....adjust as per the screenshot settings and play the same Avengers video....you will see the difference
