Product Registration fails with "Serial number incorrect!"

I'm attempting to register the mesh router that I purchased this week, but after entering the serial number on the first field in the form - which then correctly auto-populates the Product Type with "Wireless" and the Product Name with "ZenWifi_XT8", it reports the failure message in the title upon submission.

It's obviously doing some kind of serial number lookup in order to populate those other fields, so I am at a loss to understand why it then reports the number as incorrect when the form is submitted.
