1. Firmware Version: WW_17.0240.2009.49
Going into camera with auto rotate off and into the gallary from camera app turns on auto rotate everytime. If I switch app without going to homescreen it stays on 3-5 times...
I am using the ROG Phone 3 and I have seen a lot of non ASUS phones as well this seems to be an Android thing. I can have a check if this is a behavior or can be controlled.
Can you please forward this to the Dev's to check as it's sometimes really annoying.
It's an android thing you know. Not only ASUS did it. Other manufacturers like OnePlus, Samsung, Oppo, Xiaomi, and other phones that uses Android as it's operating system.
It's a feature that made by Android devs so if you took a photo in landscape, you can view the photo quicker in landscape too. It's not something you can turn off by flicking a switch.
If you want beef, go to the Android devs and scream about it very annoying.
Maybe you need to update your firmware.
Dude I got your point but it should be restricted to just camera and its own gallery. Just read the second half of my sentence above. That is my main problem.
Auto rotation turning on in camera doesn't bother me or staying on in camera gallery but if I exit app and it stays on... It bugs me and I also own a Pixel so there it turns off after switching app every time so don't tell me its android.
I think it's your firmware. I'm on the latest update it rotates in the gallery but switches back when I hit the home button.
I am on WW-17.0240.2012.65 and don't face this issue. Same behaviour as @[email protected] actually which sounds like what it is expected.
With Auto Rotate Off, go to the Camera App - Gallery via the Camera App - Rotate the phone to landscape (this will rotate like my Samsung phone). Come out of the Camera/Gallery App, the Home screen or the App switching screen should return to Portrait.
Probably worth updating to WW-17.0240.2012.65 and see if you still see the same problem.
I've noticed this just ones after .65 update since its release date.
Hoping it stopped.
