Please tell us some basic information before asking for help:

  1. Model Name: ROG Phone 3
  2. Firmware Version: 17.0823.2009.99
  3. Rooted or not: not rooted
  4. Frequency of Occurrence: constant
  5. APP Name & APP Version (If your issue relates to the app): N/A

In addition to information above, please also provide as much details as you can, e.g., using scenario, what troubleshooting you've already done, screenshot, etc.

========================================

The issue the phone is stuck in a reboot loop. As soon as I put in my code to unlock it and it tries to load my apps the phone crashes and starts the reboot again. I am able to boot into safe mode and I did try a factory reset initated through safe mode but after completing the initial set up when you try to get to the home page it starts the cycle all over again. All help is greatly appreciated.

    @[email protected] flash the firmware. Start from square 1.

  • Thank you for the reply. Could you point me to a reliable walk through on this. I know I can google it but I hate to waste my time on a dated or half ass walk through. Thanks. Meanwhile I will be searching.

  • I cannot for the life of me locate a copy of the firmware. Isn't there an official Asus link to grab it from? All of the ones I see are shady websites that do not exactly instill confidence. I tried to grab a copy from firmware file dot com but it says the download quota has been met. Which kinda freaks me out that so many people have had to download this file.

  • I found the firmwares. Since my phone is on the latest, I need to get an older version? How old? The oldest I can find?

  • I got the issue resolved so I figure it would be wise to leave how it got resolved here for others to try in case they are faced with the same situation. I called Asus support and the first thing they had me try was to turn off the phone completely and then press the power button and the volume DOWN button at the same time and leave them pressed for like a minute. I believe they had me do it for 30 seconds although I would do it a full minute just to be safe. You will see the phone go through boot up and reboot cycles back to back to back to back consistently. When you finally let go it will boot up. My phone actually rebooted by itself making me think the issue was still there but when it came back it it stayed up.

    I hope this helps someone else! Merry Christmas!🎅

  • did support say whats the cause?

  • No They didn't say and you're right I shoulda asked. I was just so ecstatic that I got my phone back that it slipped my mind. This phone is by far the best phone I have ever owned. The battery life in phenomenal. A great travel phone and I can't wait to start traveling again.

  • The cause is mostly an software error, this happened to me first day I got the phone I accidentally interrupt phone update then it goes reboot stuck I fixed it with same method.

  • @[email protected] Good to know your issue was resolved! Mention me in this thread if you run into the same issue again.

    Happy holidays! 🙂
