========================================
Hello. I connected the ROG Kunai 3 to my ROG Phone 3 to play and it worked fine until I got a prompt to update the firmware for the Kunai 3, so I tapped it. It said failed yo update and the right controller stopped working and would never responds, but the right controller still works.
I think this should be addressed very quickly as it basically bricked an expensive accessory.

Hey, recently i connect kunai with that middle acc (acc to charge kunai) and use a cable to directly connected it to phone and it prompted to update firmware. Now my kunai can be used again. Maybe this method will help you too

Amazing! Thank you, Thank you! I did the same, I used a USB-C to USC-C and connected the Charging Piece which you mentioned to my ROG 3. I also got a prompt to update the firmware and it worked perfectly!
I attached a screenshot of the hardware version as well. The Charger Version is also V3.1.0

I'm bringing this up again as this should be solved. I've seen other facing the same problem on the Asus Armory app.
Still no update or response from Asus.
My issue has been around for almost a week now.
I contacted Costumer Service email, but they gave me no useful answer.
I'm pretty disappointed of this... a flagship phone should have better and proper support, and yet I got better support for a $150 phone more than a $1200 phone.
Please fix this I'm now afraid to update my incoming kunais
When will there be any kind of attention? Mods or Devs. A gaming smartphone that does not do its advertised job is a joke...
I got prompted to update twice and each time the box just disappeared. Not sure if everything went well or how to check firmware. I think they are working? I am however expriencing random disconnects during USB mode. (Green LED turns off and then a second later turns back on)
Unfortunately, I didn't get any new prompts. If it works for you, do not update it. It is not worth the risk.
If you want to check the frimware; Go to settings then scroll down to System, tap About Phone, scroll down and tap on Hardware Information. In there you can scroll down to see the firmware for each of the controllers.
Oh no it seems each controller has a different version. Left -> 3.3.3 and Right -> 3.1.0 (Bluetooth 3.0.8)
I guess that is why it disconnects for you. For me the versions are Left: V3.3.3 and Right: Vff.ff.ff
Most people wjo updated have the same case as me sadly.
This really needs to be addressed by ASUS.
@Zexiar I'm sorry for the late response! I missed your thread in the feed.
I'm sending you instructions on how to log your device via PM, along with some follow-up questions.
This is normal and what I have on my Kunai 3 as well, which works fine. ๐ Your disconnect issue must stem from something else. I will send you a PM as well.
So is this right controller problem fixed yet? I've encountered the same problem
Same problem with me, already 2 week and there's no solution
@[email protected] We're currently looking into this issue.
@Gustav_ASUS please update us if there is anything new.
@Zexiar I will keep you posted. ๐
Don't forget about 8-directional pad problem. Because it's really hard to push the button to get 8-directional. Maybe change the sensitivity of the d-pad
I've forwarded your latest findings and video. I will update you if I hear something new.
Dear Mods.
Is there any update regarding our issue? It has been a very long time now...
