  • my phone just died.... suddenly it switched off one morning and hasn't started yet... it happened after a few days of android 11 update... what should I do?

It started showing problems when android 10 updated was provided... It showed an error message that the operating system was not found.... I had to reset twice to get it booted both times.. since it was working fine till android 11 update... It was showing some problems but I thought it was a software issue and it will get better in a few updates... but not this... what should I do? It is not booting up... not picking up(charging sign) charging... or any kind of response..

  • I've had two more users with devices that showed similar symptom. Both of them got their device working one day after.

Continuously try fore restarting it by holding volume down + power for 10 seconds. Do this up to 10 times and hopefully it will boot from the secondary partition. All though this trick didn't work for the two users mentioned it may work for you. Don't charge your device but keep trying holding the power button for 5s every other hour and during these attempts, you're allowed to charge it.

  • It is the same for me. Even took the phone to ASUS Service Centre in Singapore and this is what they said

The unit is around 7 months old. Any help would be appreciated.

Essentially the unit was very lightly used because of Covid 19 lockdown and work from home. This means the phone is left switched off as I find it too distracting during teleconferences.

Basically the phone refused to start. Have tried power up+power button repeatedly before taking it to the ASUS Service Centre.

I said Volume DOWN + Power. Anyway, if they service center replies like this, it's usually because they've found some customer induced damage like clear drop marks or that the moisture indicators inside has changed color (due to moister/water damage). Only they can tell you why it's not under warranty.

  • This happened on my phone. Received a Android 11 beta update patch. Didn't apply and the phone switched off some time later. Tried power button, connected the charger, power button + volume down also didn't work. After many failed attempts tried long pressing power button + volume down for 15 seconds and voila phone booted on normally.

  • Sent to 3rd party repair shop. Awaiting review results. There may be hope.

  • Sadly could not be fixed :-(

  • Update:

This is the best New Year gift. The Repair Hospital fixed my Zenfone 6 and it is now working. They replaced the board for SGD 165. Just Google The Repair Hospital Suntec Singapore.

Considering, I'm still paying for the phone via installment plan, the repair cost is well worth the expense. They did what ASUS Service Centre in Singapore would NOT do. To be fair, this model is not available in Singapore. So maybe they did not have the parts.

Blessed New Year to all :-)

Congratulations on having your phone restored to the original working condition!

Can you please elaborate as to what the technicians said could have been the cause?

Also describe the board you're talking about which was replaced, please!

    Thanks,

    Scooo.
