Detailed description:

I have a mouse that works with all of my laptops but the Tuf a15. The mouse is okay, it works in other computers. The laptop’s USBs (one 2.0 and two 3.0) are also okay, other mice and pen drives work as expected. Whenever I plug in the mouse, a notification “your USB device malfunctioned” comes up. In device manager it shows “device descriptor failed” when plugged into the 2.0 port and “set address failed” when connected to the 3.0 port.

The mouse works if I connect it to the laptop via an unpowered USB hub.

Strangely the mouse lights up for a few seconds and then powers off as soon as the notification on the laptop comes up.

I did a few tests and am 100% sure it is a software/BIOS issue.

I am on BIOS 309

  • Hi,

Then what kind of mouse is it? which brand a model?

So all other external device work with the A15 directly expect this mouse?

    Thank you.

  • It is a "gaming" mouse with RGB and 5 buttons (does that help?). It's a little domestic company.

Yes all devices work directly. I have reason to believe that hardware is not the problem, but the software/BIOS. Also I updated to 311 and still doesn't work.

  • Hi,

Are you able to share a link of that mouse?

If only 1 device is not working's very likely compatibility issue.

But we would need more information to find out.

    Thank you.

Sorry for the late reply. I can’t post links with this new acc. So there is a space between “Amazon.” and “in”

I think it’s a compatibility issue too. Can it be fixed by you guys without having physical access to the mouse?

  • I saw reviews of the mouse and it seems other TUF A15 users are having the problem too.

  • Hi Tufa15,

    Thank you for the information.

Please kindly give this feedback to the supplier of this mouse as well.

I will report this but I don't think we can do much about it.

  • Ok, thanks for all the help!
