Just to clarify, @amitgarde3 is not a moderator or affiliated with ASUS.
@Gustav_ASUS i had already clarified that thing with users 🤪 m just trying to help as you guysz do
So do they know the real cause or not. I'm confused.
Yes they do and they are still digging inside dont worry😜
If you tweet along with this (😜) emoji, it kinda makes me even more worried
😆🤦♂️ what could possibly go wrong
Did new update .98 change the gamma?
I see this video https://youtu.be/3VZFpwlXKpg I now can see the difference of not pure black 1:23 vs pure black around 1:44
For me it didn't change anything.
So far Asus's attempt to mitigate the problem is kinda meh.
I assume ASUS has to somehow get pixelworks to adjust gamma based on brightness.
@nightmaster552 I've seriously lost hope. I think even the Devs and mods have to be honest. We just have to live with it I guess. No other way.
Once my warranty runs out I'll be making an application (and possibly a modded kernel) that should be able to fix it, it will require root tho.
Only if ASUS doesn't fix until it runs out, obviously.
I think u should collabrate with the Devs, lol @nightmaster552
If u do I'll root it just for that. But what I've noticed is that the Black crush is way less if I enable the 60 Hz instead of the 144 Hz Mode. That's so weird tho..
Hardware or software... This is the worst performing display. It is spouse to be OLED but it can't even do it's basic thing. Show black colors.
So far Asus is only making problem worse and I don't see any improvements. And then the lack of communication suggest that there is something Shaddy going on.
I feel sorry for people that paid 1k euros + for this experience.
it really depends who bought it. People like me who are very experienced will enjoy the phone a lot because we can fix things and use the technological aspects to the fullest extend. For instance I am better at using the camera than 99.9999% of the rog3 users out there, same goes to performance, dealing with black crush etc.
But you do have a point, it's hard to recommend to ordinary people as it is a little flakey.
I have to say that even I am enjoying the phone. But the problem for me is the fact that even though their work is cut out for them, ASUS is underperforming. If it is something they can't repair then they should at least say that.
Its going to be worst for Asus, once lenovo legion enters! Sorry we will move to lenovo legion!!
That phone was launched like in July I don't think it'll release in India now
Plus legion is way worse when you compare ui, updates and development
It has that traditional chinese skin and lots of bloatware
I was previously a loyal Samsung user, but because the Exynos 990's performance was so bad I was forced to move to Rog 3 with Snapdragon 865+. But what is very unfortunate is the poor quality of the Asus rog 3. when you first bought it there were about 4 dead pixels, now it's about 13 dead pixels, I don't know how many will be later. have you experienced the same thing ?? Is the quality of OLED ASUS really that bad?
