Hi gangadhararao
Thank you for your asking. Both of my MPM1 in Android 9 and Android 10 are in Widevine Security Level L1.
1. Have you ever unlocked or rooted your device before?
2. Do you mean that your device is in Widevine L3?
3. Does the issue appear right after any apps' download or update?
DRM Level on mine is L1. V432 . MaxProM1
Are you talking about Youtube? Because That's an issue from YouTube's side for mobile app due to rise in data traffic during Covid!
Even max on mine is 480p.
What does this app show your DRM level?
Check Widevine CDM section for Security Level.
After downgrading from beta 2 of Android 10 every users faced widevine level 1 turning into level 3..me too
Hi dibyarupprk2011
Thank you for your reply. I just downgraded my device yesterday from WW-17.2017.2006.429 to WW-16.2017.1912.060 to WW-16.2017.2009.087, yet my device is still in L1.
1. Have you ever unlocked or rooted your device before?
2. Can you elaborate more about your downgrade process? From which firmware version to which firmware version?
Have you flashed beta 1 , i think the problem is with beta 1 when i installed beta 1 my wideline went to l3 , i waited for beta 2/stable update to resolve this issue but didnt resolve.
I have checked through this app only its showing l3
I have unlocked bootloader on android 9 version but after that i have flashed fastboot rom ver 058 and checked widevine is l1 but when i flashed beta 1 this problem occured.
But in beta 1 i never unlocked bootloader and i rolled back using above mentioned fastboot rom.
Hi gangadhararao
Sure, I have another device upgrade from A10 V407>V424>V429>V432, and the device is still in L1.
1. Have you ever unlocked or rooted your device before?
2. What is your current firmware version? WW-17.2017.2008.432?
About unlocking i said in before comment.
Actually what i did was i flashed beta1 rolled back to 058 via fastboot. After beta 2 update, i flashed and rolled back to 058 via fastboot.
Currently i am on pie(087) build
Hi gangadhararao
Oh ok, sorry that I read the passage too fast. Please note that once the device performs the unlock process, ASUS can not guarantee the side effect of the unlock or root. You will not be able to recover your ASUS product (“Original Product”) back to original locked conditions. Sorry for any inconvenience it may caused.
What about me..i didn't unlocked.. i just updated to 407 and downgraded to 60 or 59 i don't remember and lost L1!!!
As far as i know it isn't about unlocking.. it's about loosing the L1 certificate keys from the device persist partition after downgrading to pie from 407.. and it's asus who can again bring back the L1 certificate for all lost thru fota..if only asus wants!
There is problem with beta 1 update only, most of the people who flashed beta 1 lost their L1 certificate.
I also lost it after flashing beta 1 if we complain them they will ask repeated questions have you rooted you phone , have you unlocked , have you done this, have you done that but they will not provide solution.
Waste of time !!!!!,
Hi dibyarupprk2011
Thank you for your reply. What is your current firmware version? Please try to upgrade to V432 and downgrade to Pie.
If the Widevine Security remains in L3 in Android Pie, please contact the Repair Center.
If the Widevine Security changes to L1 in Android Pie, then I may need your logs for further checking.

Is it sure L3 will change to L1 after downgrading to pie from 432?, I am already in 432 it's still L3
And how to provide a log for Widevine level? Lol
Hi dibyarupprk2011
Downgrade from V432 to Android 9 is a way for me to check your symptom. As I mentioned above, if the Widevine Security remains in L3 in Android 9, please contact the Repair Center. If the Widevine Security changes to L1 in Android 9, then I may need your logs for further checking. Furthermore, kindly note that both of my devices still remain in L1 no matter which firmware they switch to. I not sure what your usage behavior was, so try to downgrade to Android 9 for further checking. Do back up your data first.
