After the update I'm experiencing heating issues and huge battery drain. My temp is around at 41 to 45 degrees and its really bad. And when my phone is at sleep after i wake up it drains like 30 - 40% and it is heating up, gps, wifi, data is off and its still heating up and draining up the battery any upcoming updates to fix this? i cant really use this phone properly right now because of the heating issue and battery drain

Hi WOR
Thank you for your asking. Kindly try some stay-at-home troubleshooting tips below:
1. To avoid any compatibility between the firmware and the third party apps, please update the apps to the latest version.
2. Enter "Safe Mode" and leave a 100%-charged phone in sleep(idle) mode overnight, then provide me the screenshot of
①Setting>Battery
②Setting>Battery>3 dots on the top"Show app usage"
# How to enter and exit "Safe Mode"
https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1005163/
If the battery works well in "Safe Mode", please check on any disturbance from the installed 3rd party Apps.
3. If the issue remains the same in "Safe Mode", please try "the Factory Reset"
Settings>System>Reset options>Factory data reset
Please note that once the Factory Reset is completed, all data, apps, settings and personal information will be deleted.

My phone does not charge at 100% it's stuck at 99% only. do i need to recalibrate my battery?
Hi WOR
Then perform step 1 and 3 first, then back to step 2 to check if the device can be charged to 100% or not?
Can you charge your device to 100% before you update to V087?
Yes, and it is not overheating. and when the phone is in sleep or idle it just discharge 3% of the battery before the update but now even in sleep or idle mode the phone is heating up like crazy 40+ degrees i think that's the reason why my phone is charging slow and draining fast ill try to put it in safe mode after i charge it and send some screenshots that you will need. And tell me if i need to re-calibrate or just factory reset my phone
Hi WOR
Thank you for your reply. I won't suggest you to do recalibrate for handheld devices, yet if you have any concern, you may perform by: 100%(if you can)>20-30%>100%>repeat the process 2-3 times
I tried the safe mode troubleshoot and this is the result. it is still draining while in idle or sleep
Hi WOR
Your battery performance, 33% battery drain in 4 hours idle, in Safe Mode is very abnormal. My device in the same firmware version WW-16.2017.2009.087 drains 50% in 7 days idle, not in Safe Mode.
Please check if there is any disturbance from third party apps. Furthermore, please try the Factory Reset and provide me the screenshot of Safe Mode overnight testing again. :)
How long has the battery been used? If the situation persists, please contact ASUS repair center in the country of your residence for battery checking: https://www.asus.com/support/Service-Center-All-Countries/
If it is impossible to access the service center during Covid-19 period, please try Call us: https://www.asus.com/support/CallUs
I think asus never provide update without bug. In blood of asus there is bug nothing else. They never improve stability they only improve bugs

I never used my phone while charging. i hope that there would be a software update that can fix the heating issue
Hi friends
Thank you all for your reply. Because I have no clue which 3rd party apps your device has, please try the Factory Reset to avoid disturbance from 3rd party app. To avoid any compatibility between the firmware and the third party apps, please update the apps to the latest version. Kindly check your 3rd party apps first, and provide me the suspicious app name and version.
If ur phone is about 2 yrs old, maybe u need to change ur battery, i haved this problem to but it fixed when i change my battery.
yah i think the battery is bad now i factory reset my phone and it is still heating up and draining as usual. it's just suck to replace the original battery because in my country when you take your phone for battery replacement in the service center, the battery that they will give you is not the original one it's like a class A battery it will never be the same again
i just factory reset my phone i think the battery is at fault i may try replacing it thank you for helping me
