Connecting my Asus Vivobook Pro to an monitor with USB-C
- System: Windows 10
- Battery or AC: AC
- Model: Asus VivoBook Pro N580GD
- Frequency of occurrence: Always
Hi, I recently bought a Philips 346B1 monitor. Over the last few days, I have been using HDMI to connect my monitor to my laptop. SInce the monitor only supports 30Hz with HDMI, I wanted to try USB-C to connect them.
When I connect it an error message first advises "Display connection might be limited. Make sure the DisplayPort device that you're connecting to is supported by your PC"
The website of the laptop said that the USB-C port supported display port, I'm using an USB-C to USB-C cable. Does this make the difference?

Hello Joren,
The Type C port is using DisplayPort technology to export display.
If your monitor only accept HDMI, then you would need to convert the signal.
Thank you.
