Detailed description:
I have ASUS Vivobook 15 R542UQ-DM153 with X542UQ.309 bios with intel i5 7200u CPU Nvidia GeForce 940mx 2gb gddr5 VRAM.
On 14th July 2020, I updated Intel Management Engine firmware Version  11.8.79.3722 on top of existing firmware v 11.8.78.3681 on windows 10 2004 Enterprise 64bit build no 19041.331

I have taken the high risk for updating the latest firmware and drivers because of intel identified the vulnerabilities in management engine.
I am not recommending users to update without consulting laptop or desktop or motherboard ASUS Support
Ask Asus security team for the released new ME firmware.
There are different types of firmware depends upon the intel processors generation and the for respective SKU's only.
This Intel Management Engine Firmware directly updates the intel processors and will be lifelong. Future updates only can be installed if existing firmware is not corrupted or not modified
Downgrading firmware is not available, so I won't recommend it.
Be careful before updating the new firmware, please note I and below site users and admin are not responsible for damaged caused due to updating.
Incorrect firmware will damage the processors. Even it won't boot or laptop won't power on.
This firmware is not available on the ASUS support website for R542UQ. I took a risk and updated by own.
After updating my laptop is running without problems , NO bsod , no hung, no driver incompatibility
I downloaded Intel Management Engine Firmware from below website
