Please tell us some basic information before asking for help:
- Model Name: Asus 5z
- Firmware Version: Latest .87
- Rooted or not: not
- Frequency of Occurrence: sometimes
- APP Name & APP Version (If your issue relates to the app): System UI
In addition to information above, please also provide as much details as you can, e.g., using scenario, what troubleshooting you've already done, screenshot, etc.
========================================
UI is Lagging/Stuttering while opening apps, closing apps, switching between the apps, opening the all app Page and swiping up and down in page, switching between Home page and Google now page after updating new .87 patch. It doesn't lag much but you can feel the lag there wasn't before this update. Sometimes apps also lags while scrolling but not much as the UI. Please look into this matter and provide solution.

This issue was already on previous update .70. Now on .87 update there's an improvement but the issues is still there. It's better now but it's not completely fixed
This is because this "pure android design" is based on 30FPS, any stutter on cpu will be sensed,
No it's constant 60fps for me (readings are always around 59.8 or 59.9)as the display isn't 60hz calibration as with all phones
Checked with FKM manager fps meter
Animations are not 60fps here. o.o
Do you use constant ai boost?
I am also facing this issue sometimes, it was not in previous update. If happens only sometimes in apps or in UI Itself, you feel a lag frame drop and its like frame drops in pubg. You can feel it.
I also feel the laggy UI frames Very frequently. I see frame drops everywhere. UI, Browsers, Apps etc. Literally everywhere but do note that not everytime.
Laggy UI frames I see very frequently. Even if I restart the device and immediately write the lock screen password and use my phone for some seconds device frames jitters. I knoq device does some setup at that time but still. But this was not there before.
Same thing happens with me also. UI is not smooth as previous versions. Hope it will be fixed in upcoming updates 😊
Same here. Hope is the only option for me. 🙂
Nope
Actually I noticed that on .5x UI frame drops and jitter are less than 1x animation speed.
Less noticeable*.
Yes less noticeable. 😅
But then also it sometimes get noticeable. And this strikes out the smooth experience within a second. 😑
I experienced this lag in UI too. For me this is occurring during scrolling in reddit or twitter. Why aren't the moderators replying or taking note of this?
Please see above video ☝️Scrolling lag or stutters in latest .87 update it is related to touch please look into it
THIS HAPPENS ONLY WHILE SLOWER SCROLLS
thankyou @Anders_ASUS @CH_ASUS 😊
Yup! What amitgarde3 said is the exact problem that I'm facing!
Yes when we scroll slowly ui stutters. But the same time UI frames are not consistent and randomly lags here and there.
Very tough to catch in screen recording.
When we go back to home screen the animations are not smooth it's very laggy
Hey, there can be multiple things which may cause this issue, try the below troubleshooting:
1. Check if there isn't any third party app which might have caused the device to slow down
2. Your device should have a few % of storage left as less free space on the device can cause a device to run slow
3. RAM management - there should always be adequate RAM available if the device needs to work flawlessly
4. Restart whenever you face this issue
5. Restart the device in safe mode – i. Power button hold for 2 seconds, ii. tap on the power off message which pops up on the screen, hold for few seconds it will give you an option to boot in safe mode.
6. Also, check if your device is on the latest software version.
7. If nothing work you can back up your phone & factory reset your device.
More than 60GB space is available. All third party apps are closed. Also tried in Safe mode. 2.5GB ram is also free so that's not an issue. It works flawlessly for some time after restarting but after i open few apps it's buggy.
