Hi, the last couple af days its really a downhill for my device, other than the fact that my camera doesnt flip at all, and i am planning to visit asus sevice center the next days...battery started to drain like crazy too. And i am using the device wayy less in comparison with other days. I fall asleep with 80 and i woke up with 40%. Nothing has changed yet i am in a constant hurry to charge my phone which by the way is charging way slower than it used to!

Anyone else something similar?

Thanks in advance

Please share a screenshot of your battery usage at your wake up time.

  • Thats my accubatery stats... But it shows an overall health from the first day that been installed. The drain cant be showed here ( its about 2-3 days that this is happening so is a small part of the big picture till now) nevertheless even these stats took a hit by the performance of the last 2-3 days. I used to have much better stats with a really harsh usage...

I meant the one in android battery settings

  • Yeah sure!

  • The battery stats won't say much since it will only reset when it reaches full battery.

I sounds like you have an app that's highly active in the background. Here are a couple of things you could try.

First of all, restart your device. It solves a lot of issues and your phone will work better if you restart it once per week.

Second, go to system settings -> battery -> powermaster -> auto-start manager and prevent all the apps to auto start that you don't need a notification from.

After this go to system settings -> advanced -> Mobile Manager -> Memory cleaner -> Turn on Super Clean mode -> enter app list and uncheck any app that you must get notifications from -> go back -> open recent apps overview and press clear all.

    Restart your phone.

Monitor your battery life over a couple of days and if it hasn't improved then please put your phone in flight mode when you go to bed. If you have lost more than a couple of percent after 8h sleep, then there might be a bug in the system that we have to investigate.

With the exception of your last advice i have already done all the others. I follow those habits and set those settings from the first days i got the device. Ill try the last one and get back to you.

    Thank you

( Btw same thing today... Go to bed with 80 and wake up with 37%)

  • I have exactly the same issue. Instead of 4-5 days between recharges, I'm suddenly down to less than 2. Phone usage is the same, no new apps were installed. Also phone is less than a month old, so battery is new.

  • Can you fully charged the phone (100%) before going to sleep and see what is happening in morning.

  • I am already on it!

  • Bonjour, j'ai le même problème depuis que j'ai mon téléphone. Et tout d'un coup la batterie ce décharge normalement, par contre je n'ai plus de sonneries. J'essaie d'en mettre une différente aux contacts mais l'application se ferme.

  • I fully charged the phone and kept it charging for an hour after reaching 100%. Then it was just sitting and the battery was quickly draining. Yet according to battery usage no applications were using the battery too much (3 in total, 1-2% each).

To be honest with you, I also have the feeling that battery drops faster recently.

But since school is closed in my country with the covid19, I tend to use more my phone than when I had physical school day. So I had the sensation that battery drops faster. But in fact, no. The 8-9h of SOT are still easily reachable for my phone. I finish my day with 30% while I used to have 50% on school normal day.

To conclude, user behaviour influences the battery consumption (not a big surprise 🥴).

    -

    On a night/stand by, when you're >30% you should loose about 1%/h ...

I think something is running in background.

Yeah i tried the airplane mode advice and in 5 hours it went from 82% to 54. And just for the record this is the battery consumption of the last day... If you add up all the numbers you get a 34% total !!! Wich is weird...

And also... I remembered that 3-4 days ago... My device noticed me about a bug report. Is there a possibility for that to correlates with the whole story?

    Thanks in advance

This is mine (sorry for Russian language):

    49% remains after 18 hours.

    Screen - 50 minutes, 3%

    Phone idle (17h 47m) - 3%

    Android system - 1%.

No calls, no 4g (just wifi) during all that time.

Here are my actual AccuBattery stats just for comparison, I have no complaints about battery drain.

  • Yeah i took your advice and installed it too. Good app! I used to have much better battery performance but now is dissapointingly poor...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you to find out which application is draining your battery.

Did you try to restart to Safe Mode to see if everything was fine in it when it came to draining the battery?

Of course, during your stay in Safe mode, you will only have access to pre-installed applications, but perhaps you could last a day or two to test the discharging battery in this mode. This would eliminate a possible hardware problem with the battery if it worked perfectly fine in Safe Mode.

  • I dont think that is any of the apps the issuse because i didnt add any new the last month at all. My device as it is one day out of the blue just started draining the battery. No i didnt try that safe mode solution... i dont know what it is but maybe I should look it up. I dont have much free time to spare on these things. Its a 3months old device and its like i have a 5 years one for crying out loud.

I've begun Safe Mode test. Will report my result once I get them.

  • Update: In Safe Mode battery was used very sparingly. Then I rebooted my phone into normal mode and disabled SIM card. Again battery was used very sparingly. So it isn't an app, its cellular network.

I will run further tests and try to see what part of cellular network is responsible for battery drain (battery is discharging fast even at night when there are no calls/SMS messages and I'm on WiFi).
