Dears,

USB gamepads don't work on my phone. Other USB devices like mouse and keyboard work fine. I'm affraid that it's intended, but still need it for application development, so I kindly ask you if it's possible to fix it either on my side or in next android update?

I can confirm that these gamepads work with other android device (old lenovo tablet with android 5.0).

Here are some logcat logs. You can see that first I connected usb keyboard and mouse and it was properly detected and InputReader added two 'A4TECH USB Device' devices:

  • Hi deveee,

Could you tell us the brand and model of your USB gamepad? Is there any error message? Please tell us the connecting steps.

What's the model of your Lenovo device that can work normally?

    Thank you 🙂

    Hi,

I tried two gamepads. The first gamepad is Apollo gp-3020. The second is the cheapest possible "noname" gamepad without analog axes. Both gamepads work with Lenovo Tab2 a10-70l.

I connect it with otg cable, then I get information about reversed charging, and then in theory I should be already able to move between application icons etc. But unfortunately nothing happens - android system doesn't get any events from gamepad.

From what I see other people have similar issues:
