Asus' Zephyrus lineup of thin gaming laptops just keeps getting bigger and bigger. The Taiwanese manufacturer will be launching the 14-inch magnesium-aluminum Zephyrus G14 powered by never-before-seen AMD processors within the next few months. Asus says the upcoming model will be configurable up to the 35 W Ryzen 7 4800HS instead of the regular 45 W Ryzen 7 4800H. The company claims that the more power-efficient HS version will perform nearly the same as the more demanding H version not unlike how the GeForce Max-Q series is within 10 to 15 percent of regular GeForce GPUs. Asus will be the exclusive carrier of the Ryzen 7 4800HS for the first six months after launch meaning that competing OEMs like MSI will have to sit of the sidelines and wait. https://www.notion.so/Xbox-Game-Pass-Adds-Four-More-Games-Across-Xbox-One-And-PC-f301305cf385401fb07... Other than the 3rd gen Ryzen Renoir CPU, the Zephyrus G14 will carry up to the GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q GPU with either 1080p or 1440p Pantone-calibrated IPS displays and up to 32 GB of RAM. Thickness and weight will be just 1.79 cm and 1.7 kg, respectively, with FreeSync and quad speakers being standard across all SKUs. Users will be able to charge the system via a proprietary AC adapter or a generic 65 W Type-C charger. Keep in mind that gaming performance will be limited if running off of a Type-C charger. A 15.6-inch version of the model will be coming as well called the Zephyrus G15. As for why Asus' premier AMD laptop will come with a GeForce GPU instead of the Radeon 5500M or 5600M, a representative told us that GeForce laptops have the "better image for gaming" at the moment. Expect our full review on the Zephyrus G14 when it becomes available by the end of March.
