5Z Update to Android 10 - overall good results, a couple of little problems solved.
Just to share some findings , in case other users will encounter the same little problems.
I updated the phone downloading the Android 10 version ww.100.04.44.98 from the AsusTek web link:
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/ZenFone/ZS620KL/UL-Z01R-WW-100.04.44.98-user.zip

The updating process went smooth.
Problem with Contacts: when the phone restarted I noted that opening the contacts, names and addresses were not visible. Moving to the dark background and moving back to the light background, names become again readable. Problem is solved. Essentially color of the fonts beame initally white on a white background, characters were no more visible.

Problem with SD card . After the upgrade, the SD card was recognised, with all the files in it well readable in the Data Manager . Following a phone reboot the card was no more visible in the Data Manager. Rebooting again the phone, the card became again visible. Currently no problem with SD card.
Few issues with Widgets: it seems to me that few Widgets are not working well, perhaps it is a matter of learning from my side. No big issues in any case.
Microsoft Apps all working, very well: I have installed Edge, OneDrive, Outlook, Office, Microsoft Weather : all work fine, very fast.
WhatsApp: working very well.

That is all from my side.

    The multi/ghost-touch issues are solved?

Multi/ghost touch issues: I am not experiencing these issues.
I understand that ghost touch issues are the terms used when the screen responds to presses that the user is not actually making, or when there is a section of the screen that is unresponsive. I am not facing these issues so far .

Hey, srota! Thank you for the reply.

The multi/ghost-issue happens mostly when gaming. But it can be tested through this application: MultiTouch Tester.

When you place two or three fingers, it adds one more touch in a random position of the screen. Could you do this test in your device?
  • And what about battery life? On Android 9 I had more then 5 hours SOT. On Android 10 I have less than 4. First 10% battery after charging drops in 5 minutes. Do you have same issue?

    Ah, I see.

So, thanks again, pal! I bought one (not arrived yet) and I was worried after taking a look at the ZenTalk Issues forum.

    Your replies helped a lot!

One of the issues described by Asus about A10Q is that some apps aren't optimized yet. Do Zenfones have app drainage monitor or something like this, that you can find out what app is draining?

You can take a look too at the problem that WhatsApp is causing in the last version. Background and standby drainage.

    (Sorry about my english.)
  • Hi srota,

    Thanks for your feedback.

Is the problem with contacts still appearing?
If yes, could you help us provide a screenshot, and tell us after what actions the problem appears?
Please also tell us the Contacts version.

Is the problem of the SD card continue appearing?
If yes, does it appear after rebooting the phone?
Could you tell us the brand and model of your SD card?

    Thank you :)

under the phone settings, there is indeed the possibility of directly viewing the usage of the battery by Apps since the last re-charge of the battery itself, and there is an automatic notification by 5Z of anomalous draining of power by an App (this notification can be disabled if one does not want it).
No problem ever experienced on my 5Z with WhatsApp draining the battery!.

    Hi rockingsahil.120,

Since version 100.04.44.98 is the first upgrade from Android Pie to 10, in order to ensure the upgrade quality for each customer, we will open the FOTA for each region in stages.
To ensure normal use, we would suggest that you wait for the FOTA or official link that will be released on our website.
Thanks for your patience and sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

I do not see a problem in this respect. To my understanding: Android 10 is faster in starting an App than previous versions of Android, it is therefore normal and good that it closes Apps in the background if they are not in use,. Also, the usage of the Random Access Memory that you see, should be somehow an average usage, some margin must be left, otherwise the processor would remain stuck. (this information is not like the one of a Windows PC where you can see the instantaneous usage of the RAM)
