  • Hi wazrozfrance,

Is the problem when the music plays to bass notes, the volume sounds lower?

Could you tell me which app(and its version) you are using to listen to music?
Does this problem appear on every app?
Could you provide me with a music link that has this problem?

Could you tell me the brand and model (or product link) of your Bluetooth device?
Does it happen on every Bluetooth device?

If you are using Bluetooth speakers, could you record a short video for us to understand the problem? This could help us look into the problem greatly.
To share videos, please upload it to ASUS WebStorage (https://www.asuswebstorage.com/navigate/) and share the link with us.

    Thank you. :)

Yes, is the problem when the music plays to bass notes, the volume sounds lower. I tried different music players: poweramp, neutron music player and jetAudio, all the latest version, everywhere there is a problem with a floating sound when playing bass. Bluetooth device is https://www.amazon.com/Douk-Audi ... leted/dp/B01IH5THTY
I have samsung galaxy ace 2 and motorola moto x 1st gen, on these devices there is no such problem with the sound of bluetooth. Link to music that has this problem https://drive.google.com/drive/f ... 1e5MdkCDHZzSJacF-i1

    Sorry for our late reply.

Thanks for the answer. The Asus1 file on the link https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1bSarDr8FHFz2C1e5MdkCDHZzSJacF-i1 you can hear how the sound becomes quieter when it plays the bass for 0:04 sec. and Asus2 file 0:12-0:15-0:33-0:36-0:39. Unfortunately on the record is not so well heard

    Hi wazrozfrance,

    Thank you for your reply.
Does this problem appear on the preloaded music player app - Play music?
Or only on these three apps: poweramp, neutron music player and jetAudio?

When this problem happens, are you listening to offline or online music?
Do you have the original music links to these songs so we can make sure?
Does this problem appear when you play with the phone's speaker or use earphones?

    Thank you :)

    Hi wazrozfrance,

    Thanks for your feedback.
Is it happening when using bluetooth headphones Sony MS-881F?
Does it appear in other bluetooth devices as well?
Do you mean the sound is still lower when playing to bass notes, no matter listening from which music app?
Does it happen when listening to music on YouTube? Could you show me a YouTube music link for example, and kindly tell us when in the music does the sound feels low?

    Thank you :)

    Hi wazrozfrance,

    Thanks for your feedback.
Hi. The problem remained on all bluetooth devices. When playing bass notes, the sound is still lower. This also happens when listening to music on YouTube, although the sound drawdown is not as noticeable as when listening offline through a music player. I made another entry, playing the track through poweramp and YouTube https://drive.google.com/drive/f ... JOmZUo-QUPho7noICzD
Recording_poweramp_player. On this recording, the sound is quieter on 01-10s 13-23s 26-36s. On the 19-20s 32-33s, you can hear a specific volume failure
Recording_youtube. On this recording, the sound is quieter at 19-20s 32-33s. I repeat when listening through YouTube this is not so noticeable

  • I can confirm the problem described above. Using various BT 2.1 and 4.0 speakers / headsets, sounds seem heavily 'compressed' so all frequencies sound 'equally loud'. You could interpret this as reduced volume when bass notes kick in, but imho it seems there's something at work to make the 'perceived loudness' equal over all music notes. It basically ruins any dynamics in the music that's being played. It has been this way since I bought the phone, running Oreo and with the update to Pie the problem remains.

In addition, I'd like to add to that both AAC capable headsets that I own (Philips & Teufel) default to the SBC BT codec under Pie (checked under Developer Options). AAC seems broken; if you manually set it for the connected devivce and recheck those settings after first leaving the Developer Options menu, it is set back to SBC. No difference in sound 'quality' is perceived. Under Oreo, AAC actually worked and you could switch between codecs this way. It was even possible to 'hear' the differences between codecs. HD audio in the BT profile for both devices is enabled on the phone.
  • I can confirm, after pie update my Bluetooth speaker start to sound lower, with xiaomi mi 9se and LG g6 sound is much louder in the same scenarios.

    Hi wazrozfrance,

    Thanks for your feedback.

Please answer, will this sound issue be fixed in future updates?
  • Same problem here, no mather what device I'm connecting the sound is kind of muffled  ex. Bluetooth headset, external speaker or xiaomi roidmi. Even my amazfit watch can develop better sound quality when connected to these devices - clear and crispy sound. I've Tried multiply audio players but problem still persist so it's not a about a software,/app or audio format. IMHO its obvious There's something wrong with firmware, audio codecs, or audio Service on this Rom.

Sad it's still not solved by any update and only thing u can do is ask us to reset Our devices to factory Mode or send you the problematic audio file.. Is it really hard to investigate why audio on this device is messed up or u are just unable to tell us the truth - it wont be better, it wont get any update it's a hardware problem etc..

    Stop letting us down Asus..

    :)
  • On firmware WW-16.2017.1906.055 this sound problem has not been solved, very disappointed with technical support, which cannot give a specific answer on how to solve this problem...
