I repeat once again that the battery keeps getting worse and additionally kills applications and does not keep in memory, this is the latest phone? I do not believe I asked for a colorful contacts menu, it is still darkness, pure android is the worst thing this phone has, I bought. zenui overlay, which is practically lacking, this is the last asus phone I bought, the last good one is 5z, moreover, let it be the fact that now I am writing with asus 2, the zenui overlay is perfect here, and the old 3000 mha battery holds. better than the new 5000 in asus 6, I am disappointed and I am surprised that, no admin takes to our heart complaints, I wanted a unique phone and I got a simple brick with a hopeless android and a hopeless battery, I demand overlay zenui and those possibilities that I always had, I do not need a clean android evil, Anders Asus, ch asus, do something about it, and change this sad black, uniform background. contacts and connections, because it doesn't make ugliest background with in all phones, I regret the purchase, I could. buy asus 5, I wouldn't lose a lot or at least I wouldn't have a pure android, apropo android 10 is the worst in the world, the worst ever

  • I honestly agree. The battery has gotten absolutely horrible through the updates.

  • I agree ram management its a joke and apps are getting killed aggressive and overnight it just kill almost all of them... on battery side yes it's not impressive idk why but some apps can cause a random drain on it now I am using the same apps on old phone and have zero random drains.

This is the worst system that i have to deal i have a constant feeling that this some early beta test program I even test last android 9 on it but oh my it's the same xD ... In my life, i use a lot of custom ROMs and at least half of them work better than this "system" ...

I open some threads about ram management and apps killing and now i know that support is useless too. ?

I just pack my phone to return I am happy that i still can do that and i just put Assus on my private list "do not buy again from this company".

    ?

  • yes, exactly, 20 applications at bedtime, 3 in the morning, random

  • I hope you can somehow make them listen, good luck i am out of this Asus retard story.

change this sad black, uniform background. contacts and connections

Contacts and Phone are Asus's own apps that have nothing to do with pure Android, so it's unnecessary to swear about pure Android for these apps.

  • Yes? This is all the more Asus should change Because it is the ugliest application I see, the most important is the battery, low battery and background incontinence, why such aggressive killing? Which phone does it have? Why do I need a large memory and a large battery if it does not work. Asus should definitely and immediately fix it

  • This is your personal opinion. Our market survey say that most users prefer our current close to android design. I'm not saying you're wrong as there's no right and wrong when it comes to design but we as a company need to focus on what the majority wants.

If you have a battery drain issue, then it could be some app or setting on your phone. Step one would be to deny all apps to auto start in Battery -> PowerMaster -> Auto-start manager. You can also test to not use WiFi for a day in case there's a device on you network that's constantly pinging the phone. If nothing helps, then you need to factory reset your phone. Backup to google photos and backup to google drive but don't restore the backup right away. Test a couple of days without restoring your backup and if battery is fine, then you may restore your backup. If the battery life then goes bad again, then you know it's something in your backup (settings/specific app) that causes the battery drain.

The complaint about background apps getting killed is a general Android 10 behaviour. Nothing that has anything to do with ASUS and needs to be addressed to Google if you really find it as a big problem.

  • thank you for the answer, I have already done the factory settings, I will not do it for the second time, aggressive background killing is not only Google's fault, because my wife has Huawei with Android 10 and there is no problem, the battery lasts longer, once shorter, I have applications in the start only those that I need for notifications and I don't know which ones, I'm a normal user. When it comes to pure android, a dispute but the colorful background of contacts could be, now it's embarrassingly sad

  • Old Asus 2 which I have also behaves better when it comes to keeping the application in the background and has a hundred times nicer contact application as well as a clearer and much more practical mobile manager, here the Power master is not very intuitive

  • Obviously, you are not the target audience for Zenfone 6.

Why did you take it when pure Android doesn't satisfy you at all?

Why didn't you get the same phone as your wife, you'd probably be happier and more compatible.

On the other hand, a typical ZF6 or Pixel user would hardly get any Huawei or Xiaomi.

  • This is not pure android :D this is some Asus mixup OEM crap far far behind pixel. Pure android have uniform dark them and color accents working ^^ can keep apps in the background and so one.?

  • As mentioned in my several posts Asus software is close to android in terms of looks, as for smoothness it is far away from stock Android.

But consistent updates keeps the hope alive as the most recent update version .119 has noticeably improved smoothness and battery life is also similar to .194 Android P version.

KEEP THE UPDATES COMING ASUS AND MAKE ASUS GREAT AGAIN.

I would agree that Asus is behind the pixel in terms of software, however the pixel is *not* pure android, the pixel has pure android (aosp) plus Google's proprietary oem skin on it, the only Google phone that actually had pure Android was the Nexus line, pure Android doesn't even have the blue pixel accent color as the default, and it also doesn't have the great uniform dark theme, it has the same issue with ram management, and it didn't have the accent picker working properly until the pixel 4 got the December patch, you can't blame Asus for not having all of Google's proprietary closed sourced additions, the only reason why we don't have the color picker yet is because Asus is still on the initial Android 10 release channel, I'm guessing they'll update to the pixel 4 aosp release channel with the proper theming options once they get their apps working with the custom colors which is a lot of work

This is not pure android :D

    Don't catch me for a word :)

Asus ZenUI is one of the lightest and most useful OEM skin. Mainly I would like to point out the problem-free compatibility as opposed to eg Oxygen OS, whose users often mention in application reviews in Play Store that this or that doesn't work, through deeper changes in their system.

this is some Asus mixup OEM crap far far behind pixel

So let me disagree with this. I chose Asus in front of Pixel not only because of the price. Pixel has its own serious problems and absurd restrictions, but it is certainly important for anyone who wants a perfect camera and has enough finances for it.

Pure android have uniform dark them and color accents working

These are funny marginalities when essential things don't work for you. Don't make the illusion that Pixel would be much better.

Pure android can keep apps in the background and so one

Here's a sad and contradictory answer from one Pixel owner to your question on XDA: "Does anyone of you guys have an issue with apps killing overnight?"

Have the Pixel 4 XL. Everything seems fine. Apps stay in the background. Haven't really tested if apps stay open over night. My issue was apps getting closed off within minutes of the phone going to sleep. Some apps even required to re login.

I just wanted to point out the difference compared to heavy skinned phones from Huawei or Xiaomi.

    "

Key word "WAS" ? in Asus this just forever be"my issue is" but I am hoping to be wrong ; ) rlly. I wish you all the best but i don't believe in Asus anymore. ?

Like you know the first report about ram and killing app Asus get in July now we have another year why is that? Maybe because Asus don't even have a proper bug report option I dont know.

Why i even think that is it worth something to report a bug in forum :D where we can read some move reviews form spam boots on top of our issues :D this alone just make a perfect picture about the quality that Asus brings to my experience form using zenfone 6.

I mean yea its cool device, the screen is nice, the camera is cool and good enough, sound form jack its good, jack is here ! xD and overall quality and design it's on the spot but system and support oh boy most of OTAs requires format xD one even can kill phones motherboard other than that each new ota brings some more problems for people. Don't want be that brutal I see some fixes too but ahh i will end here... Shame that we have a device with the potential to be very good but it ends up to be just average one and overpriced if you buy 8/256 variant like me xD.

  • do not intend to compare an asus to a huawei, I bought it because in previous models I loved the zenui overlay, and here it is weak. I don't want to get rid of the phone, I just mention that a better and more colorful application can be needed, this is bland and ugly, the messages are nice, I count that subsequent updates will improve as well as the battery

  • I don't know what the hell is wrong but battery drain is more compared to android 9 and prior

According to me my usage has been remained the same,

  • I do not know about you, but I am satisfied with the battery - two days of intensive use, the last build is from December 2019 č.WW-17.1810.1911.110, almost pure ANDROID too good - satisfaction.
