Shortcut to Enable/Disable Adaptive Brightness

Team,
Seems, Adaptive brightness is getting turned off sometimes. I have no idea about how and when it is getting turned off.
It is difficult to check the status whether it is enable or not. Also hard to enable it from settings menu every time.
1) Can we have tile in quick setting window as like other phones next to brightness toggle?
2) Do we have any shortcut to enable it, instead of going all the way to phone setting and then Display ?
Thanks

Happens to me too and feels random, but seems like if Super Savings Mode activates then Adaptive Brightness gets disabled and then later on changing the Battery Mode doesn't re-enable the functionality automatically.
In my case adaptive brightness switches off if I adjust brightness manually for some reason. Later I have to reactivate adaptive brightness again. It would be nice if adaptive brightness would stay on all the time. For example if I reduce brightness to minimum for reading in bed, it would be nice to have it back on the next morning. Or every time we wake the phone again from sleep mode.
Adaptive brightness will stay on unless you deactivate it but I agree it does behave strangely sometimes and in these cases you have to set the brightness manually. It doesn't mean it has been deactivated. Eventually, in future FOTA, you will have the option to toggle adaptive brightness on/off from the quick menu
Thanks. Toggle in the quick menu will be very useful.
I too had this problem. Adaptive brightness automatically turns off
It is better to be next to brightness slider
I agree, that is the best place as always.
@Anders_ASUS Any possibilities to add this toggle in next FOTA?
Also, I request to make sure to have this option in Android 10 as well.
Yep I noticed that as well, there are times where I pressed the slider in the notification bar by accident and it goes to low but it would not automatically adjust itself immediately and sometimes I have to manually set it and sometimes it works after a while.
I did a sensor test in the menu and the sensor is working perfectly fine.
Would you guys also include a feature where I can set my device to turn off at a certain timing at night and turn itself back on again in the morning ? My other phone has that. That would be a nice feature to have.
Hmm I don't think any shortcuts are needed just the old check box we are so used to seeing in some phones and with the android 10. I think it will be more useful since you can slide the notifications and settings bar all the way down instead of the half way slide.
Do not mess up the original request. Create separate thread for different issues. Else, it will get confused and we may not get proper response.
Done please check my suggestion.
I agree, some brand will have check box and some will have toggle button on the same place. Either one is good on the same place just next to brightness slider
erm in the mean time do we want to try this app ? Lux ?
Seems like a legit app to me ?
It is just a short term solution while Anders feeds this back to the dev team to fix this.
I usually avoid third party apps unless the app gives a solution for any frustrating issue. However, Thanks for suggestion.
Could you share the availability of this feature in next FOTA?
It will look almost like you want in Android Q. It will have an arrow next to the slider which will take you to an option where you can deactivate the adaptive brightness. It's an extra step compared to the older design suggested by jetjosh92 but that's how it will look. The idea with adaptive brightness is that you shouldn't have to think about it.
Thanks for initiative. The idea is good. The problem is some times adaptive is turned off. No idea as it is happening randomly. Instead of looking into the root cause. We just want to know the status of adaptive brightness from quick tile menu. Nothing else.
